Hello!

I am staying at royal pacific but wanted to fly in a day early and the prices are too high to add another night there, so I’m thinking cabana bay or one of the cheaper ones

So let’s say cabana bay, it would only be for one night (Sunday) next day is check in day at royal pacific. Can I go to the parks the very next day and they handle my luggage or do I go back and pick it up?

Also will my express pass that’s included with RP be available Monday first thing? Even though I wouldn’t have checked in yet?

I appreciate any help with this!

You have to check into RP first for the EP since it is your room keys, but you can do so at the crack of dawn before your room is ready.

IME you have to transfer the luggage yourself. It would be easiest to do this when you check into RP, then leave it at RP bell services.

Bumping this up because I'm considering doing the exact same thing in a couple months. Has anything changed? Or is it still only Deluxe resorts which will handle luggage transfers, not values. @Shacka1 , if you've done this trip already how did it go? Was switching a pain? I'll have two tweens with me. Thanks.

I haven’t done the trip yet! It’s to my understanding that it’s gonna sort of be a pain. I’ll have to get up early and check into RP and get our passes and we will miss the early park entry that day. I’m staying at cabana so I’m guessing the bus will take us to RP but I’m honestly not even sure

No, it won't unfortunately. The bus will take you to CityWalk. Well, it might take you to Aventura where you could hop off & walk. But it would really be easier at that point to just walk from CB directly, or uber. The walk isn't too bad.

Looking at the map, this is what I was going to assume... IIIFFFFF you are not worried about early entry that day. Then, as discussed, it will be a pain to do.

We moved from RP to Surfside in June. They did take our luggage so; it was easy for us. I was told before our trip, that they might or might not do this so, I was happy to find out they would. So, I can't say if they will or not.

But, as for checking in early to get your EP........I wouldn't miss early park entry for that. Our Nov trip, we have this situation.......so, my plan is to go to Early Park Entry til it starts getting busy........then head to the resort to get my Express Pass. The 1st couple hours of Early Park Entry, you don't need the EP.

I can confirm that Cabana Bay will hold on to your luggage. I believe they all will, they just wont offer Bellhop services.

OK, yeah, pretty much any hotel in the world will hold your luggage. I knew that already. Transferring them to another hotel is a whole different matter. But thanks anyway.

My suggestion is to see what the price difference is at Sapphire versus Cabana Bay. There is an interior walkway to get from Sapphire to Royal since the hotels are connected through their conference center so it's a much easier walk and might be well worth the upgrade to Sapphire for the one night if the price difference isn't too much. Other than that your best bet is to uber over with your luggage. But I've personally done the walk from Sapphire to RPR with luggage and it wasn't bad at all.

And you can still make early entry, you just have to get up earlier if you want to do that. I agree with op who said to check in at RPR, get your EP, and leave your luggage there, it will be much easier at the end of the day when you just head straight back to RPR. I believe you can check in as early as 6 am and you might even get lucky and have your room ready that early then you can drop your luggage in your new room and not have to get it from the lobby later.

We have done this for years. Arrive Thursday and check in to cheap offsite holiday inn. Early Friday morning we go to HRH, leave bags with attendants, get our EPs, head to parks. Saturday morning everything is packed back in to car and we check out, head to parks and at the end of the day return to car and drive to cheap offsite holiday inn to leave Sunday morning. We have been told they would not transfer our luggage the one time we stayed at Aventura the first night.
Soooo yes you can leave your bags at the new hotel. Get you passes as early as possible and head over.
