Do you think that Disney should move their animation studios from Burbank to Orlando to boost tourism and the economy in Orlando and the rest of Florida?

No, absolutely not. It's one thing to move Imagineering to be closest to the flagship park, but movie production is heavily reliant on the Los Angeles/Hollywood area. They should keep the studios there.

Yeah, but it's not that simple. It certainly would make operating costs lower, but then you hae to fly in all the celebrities that live in LA to do voice work, not to mention all of the artist types that will probably prefer the LA lifestyle. They did at one time do some work out of Florida, when MGM Studios first opened, but it was more TV work than anything else.

Absolutely not. They already tried (and failed) to have a "real working studio" in Orlando.

Not to mention the fact that people in that industry know that they need to stay in Los Angeles. No one in the industry is going to take a relocation to Florida because when Disney lays them off, which is comically the norm for the company, there will be nowhere else to get work in the region. They will have to come back to CA. And if Disney tried to tell its people they are being relocated to Orlando, they will simply refuse to go and then get hired by Disney's competition.

Already, when Disney fires people from its animation departments, they get scooped up by DreamWorks almost immediately.

First of all, Disney could care less about boosting the overall economy of Florida beyond it's own interests. Then like others have mentioned, where will the talent pool come from when artists and designers have no interest in moving to Florida. Besides, the film industry and the people that control it are in California ...that's a recipe for disaster.
