We are in the process of getting ready to move from Ohio to Florida!!! We are having a moving party for our kids as a way to say good-bye to some of their friends. My problem is, is that I am having a hard time coming up with games/activities to fill 2 hours that will be fun but also allow time for the kids to talk . . . Do you have any ideas or know any websites that I can go look at? ANy help wil be greatly appreciated as the party is THIS Saturday!

TIA!

I think it would be fun to have craft projects that would be "rememberance" type things. How old are your children? How many people are coming? Maybe a large mat for a photo that all the guests can sign (like many people do at weddings) and then take a photo of the group for it and frame for your children's new rooms. If you have a polaroid camera or a printer for digital pictures you could make smaller versions for the guests where your kids could put a little message on the mat and you could take a shot of your child with each friend that comes to give them as a party favor.
Or if the children are younger, maybe like a poster-size piece of paper that everyone can draw on or put their handprint on and you can write their names on and attach little pictures from the day?

Good luck with your move!

I love your ideas! My dk are 10 and 8.5 for the mat and frame idea would be perfect and easy to execute! Any other ideas? Oh yeah, the invites read "See ya real soon" as in the old Mickey Mouse Club song!

How about having 3.5 x 5 cards out so your dk friends can write the address, phone number, email, etc. You can keep them all in a shoe box and keep them all together, that way the dk have everyone info all in one place when they get to the new house.

The craft projects are a great idea.
What if you have some relay races that the kids can participate in if they want to. We did that for both of my sons' birthday parties and the kids had a great time. It was a great way to get the kids to interact.

This site has a lot of ideas for games.

Here are the games we did:
Leap Frog relay
Crab crawl relay
One leg hop relay
Ping pong ball in the spoon relay (or use eggs)
Kick Ball relay (jump with ball between knees)
Kick Ball pass over and under
Centipede race (entire team run together down and back)
Hoop toss relay
water balloon toss

jenrein -- we are moving to the Orlando area. :cool1: My dh should be starting his new job in 1-2 weeks. We still have to sell our house before the rest of us move down -- hard to tell when that will be! :confused3

DisneyArk -- I like the relay game ideas. These are more like I was looking for. I will be sure to check out the website.

Thanks for all of your help!
