Moving luggage for Split Stay

Does Disney make it easy at all for doing a Split Stay? We are thinking about going to the Poly for 5 or 6 nights in 2018 and then heading over to Art of Animation for 2-3 nights. Do we have to pack up everything and move everything over (taking up say several hours during one of our days there). Or can we pay to have our luggage moved over and can check in sort of be automatic at the second resort?

Never had a problem with moving our luggage for a split stay. Disney will take care of that for you! they will pick up your luggage and deliver it to your new resort...go on line and they will tell you what to do.

You do not have to pay, but it is common courtesy to tip $1-2 per bag touched. That's for both when you drop off and when you pick up.

Last year transferring from POFQ->CSR I wasn't able to get my bags until after 5, so keep that in mind.

Many people love split stays.
Obviously you will have to pack all your belongings. On the day of the move you can either take your own luggage to Bell Services or you can call them to come and pick them up. But you have to wait in the room for them to arrive. They will move the luggage for free, and as @Doug S sa you should tip for each bag they touch. But know it will not be available to you until late in the afternoon. You should pack a day bag with anything you want before 5. When you get to AoA you can pick up your luggage or cal luggage assistance to bring it to you. There may be a wait for it as at the values luggage is delivered on a schedule, not on demand.
Check in is not automatic. But you can do online checkin in advance.
