I love movies about redemption. Some of my favorites are: It's a Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and Scrooged. There is something about turning your life around and starting over again that appeals to me, perhaps because I did just that at a point in my own life. Do you like these kinds of movies, too? What are your favorites?

While not your typical answer but Signs is my favorite... yep it's in there!

Shawshank Redemption is one of my favorite movies. That last scene when Morgan Freeman (Red) is walking down that beach to meet Andy, now both free men, makes me weep.
Another one I love is 'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles'. I love how the Steve Martin character is taught tolerance and compassion by John Candy, and how he is a changed man by the end of the film.

My favorite movie about redemption and salvation is probably Donnie Darko.

I almost forgot! I have to watch this every year around the holidays. Thanks for reminding me!

That movie just confused me!
