Am I dreaming this is or is there actually one that shows Disney movies every night at 7 p.m.

I have it written down but can't remember now where I would have seen this?

If this is correct, can you find out ahead of time what they are playing. We go next week.

thanks!

I have never heard of one at Contemporary. I know they have a campfire with disney movies at the wilderness camp grounds.

You know, now that you mention it, it does sound vaguely familiar. We were at the CR in 1997 and 1998 and for some reason I want to say there used to be some movies down near the food and fun center. Is your "note to self" old or do you think you saw this recently? I'll be interested in the answer.

There is an area by the check in/guest services, that plays disney movies. But it's just a TV not a movie theatre. IT plays all day long. I'm not sure how late at night it has movies running.

the note to myself was made about 4 months ago when I first started planning my trip. It said 7 p.m. nightly. Wherever I saw it, I thought it was strange at the time that I had never heard of this but I've also never staid at the Contemporary so I wrote it down.

Oh well. It's not like there is a lack of things to do at WDW :)

I know when I was a kid, back in the 80's, there was a small theater where kids could watch disney movies. It is pretty vague in my mind, but I thought I remember it being near the food and fun center. maybe they got rid of it a long time ago, maybe it's still there, or maybe I'm crazy.

I don't think this theater still exists. We also used to go when I was young, and it was wonderful! I saw many Disney movies in that theater. It was in the arcade that they had downstairs. It made for a wonderful park-free family night.

I don't remember seeing anything lately about this still being available.... but yes, years ago they did play Disney movies in a place by the food and fun center. My old brain remembers the strangest.. most unimportant things!<G>
Nancy;)

How old are the books you're using for research? ;)

I, too, recalled reading about movies at the Contemporary. We were there in '97 but I didn't look into it (no time!). However, I found a paragraph about it in my 1995 "WDW with Kids" book. It says that two Disney classics are shown nightly at 7pm and 9pm as well as at the evening campfire in FW and the Vacation Club. So you may be correct but I don't know if they still do that. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

There used to be a movie theater in the game room at the Contemporay, but it is no longer there. They have a little area set up right before the Food and Fun center that has a tv and they show movies on that throughout the day. Megan

Hmmm....... I had a "WDW with Kids" that was a 1998 that I gave to a friend after this Christmas when I got a new one so I bet that is where I saw it!

thanks for eveyones help :)

They did have a movie theater -access inside the game room-when the resort opened that showed Disney movies, ut it's been gone a long time. We've stayed there recently and didn't hear anytthing about movies.

There did used to be a movie theatre but it has been gone for quite some time!

Back before the Contemp did their rehab 15 or so years ago, they did have a movie theater in the old and much larger arcade. When they rehabbed, the arcade was cut down in size and the theater was no longer used.

The theater is still there, in the same place. Or, it was as of 2 years ago when Disney used it to give flu shots to their CMs (even though we aren't CMs, we were allowed to get flu shots through Disney). It was all still there and I imagine it's still used from time to time for Disney meetings and classes. :)
