DH and I are headed down to Orlando for a little weekend trip and may want to catch a movie.

What movie theaters would you recommend? We are staying near the Seaworld area, but would travel to DTD or Universal.

I now Citywalk has movie theater there at US. DD has movie theater too.

Both the City Walk/Universal and Downtown Disney theaters are multi-screen AMC theaters. The Downtown Disney location is the larger of the two (24 screens versus 20) and there's free parking there. Downtown Disney is a little closer to the SeaWorld area than is Universal (by about a mile or so).

You may want to consider driving 20 or 30 mins and getting out of the tourist area.

The closest to the Sea World area would be the Regal Pointe Orlando Stadium and IMAX in the Pointe Orlando complex next to the convention center. You also have the AMC Lowe's Universal Cineplex 20 and the Cinemark at Festival Bay all in the International Drive area, then you have the AMC at Downtown Disney which is also not too far away. These are the main ones in the tourist area and really none are more than 15 minutes from the Sea World area which is pretty central to I-Drive,Universal and Disney. You obviously have many other movie theaters in Orlando but I would just stick to these.

Skip Festival Bay, and skip Pointe Orlando unless you want to see a true IMAX screen. DTD and CityWalk are roughly comparable, I might give Disney the edge for free parking and their new snack bar with the fun Coke machines. But if you're looking for nightlife after, go with CityWalk.

DTD has the advantage of free parking.

Citywalk has the advantage of "post-movie entertainment" with the several restaurants/clubs.... but there is a small parking fee. I believe it's currently $3 after 6pm. Citywalk also has a "Meal and Movie" deal which allows you to pay one price for dinner at one of the restaurants and your movie ticket.
