Movie choice for Disney

What Disney movies would you have the family watch before they go to Walt Disney World in December...figured it would make it fun thanks

I personally always have to watch a Muppet's Christmas Carol before the holidays, so I think that would be a great one to get in the holiday spirit.

Muppet Christmas Carol and Mickey's Christmas Carol are favorites in our family.

There's plenty of Disney made holiday tv cartoons/movies as well: Snowed in at the House of Mouse, Mickey's Once (and the sequel Twice) Upon a Christmas.

For us, we plan to watch Avatar sometime before our trip in October so we know what everything is in Pandora! I tried to watch it when it was fairly new and had to turn it off out of boredom, but I'm going to give it another try!

If avatar bored you there is something wrong. It depends on the age of who's watching as well. Pirates of the Caribbean comes to mind. Toy story, lion king, Frozen.

I couldn't past the first half hour of Avatar. It was visually stunning, but I couldn't get into the story.

Despite enjoying WDW with yearly trips since 1999 I was hooked on The Wonderful World of Disney on TV starting in the mid '50s, never much of a Disney movie fan. The videos that we use to get prepped are our home videos, quite an extensive collection. They put us back in the moment and also we'll see some attraction we've neglected and put it on our 'To Do' list for the upcoming trip.

No, its just Avatar is a very exciting movie. The age part was just a general reference to movies will be appropriate for different age groups, not directed to you at all. Example, Frozen probably wouldn't suit the same audience as pirates of the carribean. I typed quickly from work and it didn't come out very well.

Thank goodness Pandora doesn't rely on prior knowledge (or enjoyment) of the movie. We just rewatched it, and it is still visually amazing. Can't wait to see Pandora in person!

I'm the only one in our group who actually watches any Disney movies...and even then it's only a few for me. We are all adults!

I watched these so far before this upcoming trip:

Pinocchio
Tangled
Moana

and I always watch Something Wicked This Way Comes every October, going to WDW or not!

If I see Little Mermaid or something else on one of the movie channels, I may DVR and watch those. Or Lady and The Tramp.

I've never understood why people complain about that all the time. The word has history in regards to engineering. It's not like Cameron made it up.

To me it explains why it is so precious as it likely solved many, many issues in design versus implementation. Why the objections?

I felt like it was okay. It was sort of a Pocahontas and ferngully combined. I didn't love it because I knew the story already. Nothing new. But I did watch it at home, so the visuals were okay but not breathtaking as my husband says they were in the IMAX 3D theater he saw it in. Lol!!

We've just completed our Disney indoctrination of my 3 year old nephew in preparation for our trip we're leaving for today
We watched a movie every Friday, we tried to get in every movie that has a ride in WDW or a character, but didn't include movies my brother thought would scare him.

Cars (the only one he didn't make it through)

That was our list
Lion King being the biggest one missing, IMO.

DH and I rewatched Avatar and Star Wars The Force Awakens.

Muppets would probably be a good one to watch too, we've seen it many times
