Okay, so I have read the posts about the TX park and then what to my wondering ears should appear, but a comment from a guy at my church who works in the Halifax county area. He said that some Disney execs were traveling around here in the past few months looking at some land, etc. :woohoo: Something about a Frontierland theme park.

Stop laughing...waiting ... No really, stop laughing. Now, I know how the whole Disney America thing turned out, so I am not getting my hopes up. But, has anyone else heard anything about North Carolina, other than how our weather has been lately? Inquiring minds want to know.

I think it would be stupid to have WDW two states away.

I would think that it would be a vacation club resort before a theme park.

I have heard Disney is looking at many places for a resort, not a theme park. This is not meant to be offensive at all, but why would they want to build a resort in North Carolina?

North Carolina has both mountain resorts (skiing) and very popular ocean resorts nicely situated nearby a huge swath of the us population. However I don't see Disney putting just a resort in here because NC is colder than SC and Disney already has a resort in SC. A resort that only recently has become solidly popular on a part year basis. Disney would have to put a park in the resort to make it a year round draw. I don't see them doing THAT because why would you? You'd be competing with existing NC resorts for workers and Florida is just a few hours down the road.
