Hi everyone!

My DD is leaving for her CP semester and she is wondering about what to wear on check-in/move-in day? She read somewhere that you aren't supposed to wear jeans while doing traditions and some other things (she doesn't remember all of the dress code rules) and wonders if jeans are okay on check in day? Thanks!

Jeans are fine for check-in, but make sure her hair, makeup, tattoos etc. comply with the Disney Look. You can find the Disney Look on the official CP site.

There is no dress code for move in day, anything comfortable will do. She won't start Traditions until the third or fourth day that she is there. Professional clothing is required for Traditions, and they don't let you attend class if you are not dressed properly. Nice dress pants, closed toe shoes, sweaters, button-downs, etc. are all appropriate.

I believe your shirt must have sleeves as well. Even though it's just a move in day, she will take the photo for her housing ID that day so she should dress/do her makeup/whatever however she wants for her photo.

That is correct. While it is casual dress for check-in, females have to have their shoulders covered (because of the housing ID picture).

I know that parents can't go through the line or attend the housing meeting. Where should they go during these times?

They have a parents tent. I don't know what happens there, as I was on my own in going to Florida, but I know there is one available.

All I remember is that they passed out coupons to the parents for Chick Fil A. I just know my mom spent the majority of her time in the tent on the phone, haha.

The first time my dad stayed at Vista. But the last 3 times he went back to the hotel, and I called him when I was done.

There are CMs there who talk to the parents. And I believe they also give a tour around Vista.

Parents are sent to a " waiting" area/ tent. They gave a tour of the Vista way apts, gave us a booklet with info on what to expect over the next few days and other FAQ's. There were reps there about online banking, DVC, classes and a tent with coffee, and water. Get there early, the coffee was gone by the time we got there at noon.

It only took about an hour for DD to finish and then we picked her up and went to check out her apt , and then had to come back for the background check that afternoon. The mandatory meeting wasn't until the next am, so we had the rest of the day to get her moved in.
