I read they only give you coffee for one day so we have to bring our own.
Do they supply enough toilet paper, shampoo, and soap for a week stay?

Just a comment. We find it odd we will stay in a "deluxe" accomodation, but only get one day worth of coffee and trash and towels!

Toilet paper is definitely provided. And if you need more all you need to do is ask.

They do provide a travel sized bottle of shampoo, conditioner, facial soap and bath soap. But if you want more, you can pay for it.

They do provide the starter coffee as well, and again if you'd like more, you can ask and pay for it. Or bring your own from home - that way you can enjoy whatever particular kind you really like, vs. a basic type.

They do provide clean towels and take out your trash on day 4. If you want those things more frequently, you can pay for it.

It is a afterall a timeshare, not a deluxe hotel room. The accomodations are deluxe in that you have extra space, additional amenities like the whirlpool tub in the 1 BRs and larger, and the ability to enjoy your vacation in a homelike environment, but it is not a traditional hotel room by any means.

It is not a hotel, it is a timeshare. What you get is appropriate to timeshare stays.

Toilet paper will be no issue - you can always ask for more.

As for the other items, you will get those small travel bottles of things. If you can make them last until your scheduled housekeeping service, then you won't need any more. If you can't, you need to bring your own. Same with the coffee.

(PS - this is only true if you are staying on points. If you stay for cash through Disney reservations, you get regular housekeeping services & amenities, daily.)

DH and I are always fine with everything except for the shampoo so we just bring a small bottle from home and are all set.

Yes, there is plenty of toilet paper. We tend to bring our own shampoo and soap but with the trash & towel day replenishment we could probably get by with what Disney provides.

Don't forget, DVC is a timeshare. Other timeshares I've stayed at provide no coffee or personal hygiene items.

And the "one day" worth of towels? You hang them up to dry and use them the next day, just like at home. Again, this is a timeshare, not a hotel.

When you say "staying deluxe" are you a DVC Member, renting a reservation from a member, or staying on a cash reservation through Disney?

If you are on a cash reservation through the regular Disney reservation system, you'll receive daily housekeeping, and replacement items.

If you are a DVC Member, or are renting from a DVC Member, you will receive limited housekeeping, depending upon the length of your stay. For stays of 7 nights or less, you will receive trash & towel service on day 4. They will empty the trash and replace your towels, no full housekeeping. If you are staying 8 nights or more, you'll receive full housekeeping on Day 4 and trash & towel service on day 8. Even that is more than many timeshares provide.

Are tissues like toilet paper? Can we just ask for more?

Call me Sneezy. :)

Thanks!

We've always had extra boxes of tissues and TP in the bathrooms, so we've never had to ask for anything like that. I've never lacked for such things at Disney.

We had a great experience at VWL last Oct.....the mousekeepers graciously asked if we need towels, tp, shampoo, soap, etc.....they said....here just take some of this. We didn't even ask...they brought it up!!!!

That's cool....maybe my tips were impressing them? I leave a tip each day...sometimes bigger than others to see what they surprise us with.

They don't get paid much and they always have done a great job in our rooms, so it's nice to give them an extra boost. Especially, if you can afford to go down there and with the terrible economy....I know they need it more than I do.

Enjoy!

Think of it this way: members pay for everything with our dues. If we all got fresh towels and toiletries every day, we would all have to pay higher dues. Since most of us find getting fresh towels and toiletries every 4 days to be adequate, that keeps costs down for everyone. Guests who need more of those items can get whatever they need by paying for them or will need to bring them from home. Toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap and dishwasher detergent are free.

If you are staying in a 1BR you should get two sets of the following: a bar of hand soap, a bar of bath soap, a bottle of shampoo and a bottle of conditioner. One set will be in the room with the jacuzzi, the other in the room with the shower stall. We're a party of two so that's plenty of everything but if you are a family of four or five, that might not be enough even for just four days. If you are in a studio, you will get just one set of those things.

You get one starter pack of coffee but it's not great coffee so we don't use it. We bring our own from home since DH is particular about his morning coffee. You get one small (one-load) box of laundry soap in a 1BR/2BR but can buy more from Mousekeeping or in the laundry room or you can buy a larger container of detergent in the resort store.

Well, in reality, you did pay for those. We all did. Nothing in DVC is free. It comes out of our dues.

i understand that....don't they have a set number of towels, how much laundry detergent to leave, how many coffe packs to leave? i called for more coffee and detergent last jan and was told that it would get replenished on our 4th day, they wouldnt bring it before then.i think they give you the 1 small box and then want you to go to the hotel store / laundry and buy it from them. i found a mousekeeper in the hall and got whatever extra items we wanted and gave her a "small" tip

That's right. You don't get anything before your service day - every four days. Unless you pay for extra service - not tip for extra - the money has to go to DVC, not the housekeeper. Extra coffee and laundry detergent cost you extra. You'll get a single filtered pouch of coffee ( maybe two - one regular one decaf) for each service. That's why everyone suggests you bring more of your own.

You get as many bath towels as you have sleeping spaces. But in the renovated OKW one bedrooms, they still only leave four bath towels. I don't know if they figured that into the management costs.

The things that are free are the things that keep the villa clean. The things that cost money are the things that keep you clean or consume. Except for toilet paper. That keeps the villa clean and you can get extra for free.

I'm confused. If you're staying on points, then mousekeeping isn't in your room every day, so nobody should be taking those daily tips.

If you have a cash reservation through CRO, then mousekeeping is supposed to be bringing you clean towels, etc., regardless of whether or not you tip.

(I'm not saying people shouldn't tip. I'm just saying that I don't leave a tip if it's a day that I'm not supposed to get mousekeeping.)

Yeah, good point - how could bfrosty be tipping every day when the housekeepers don't come every day?

they're always roaming the halls....people on cash stays...everyday there could be one or more rooms on a floor that are on their 4th day or checking out and the room must be made ready for the next guest

I've asked the mousekeepers in the hall for extras (shampoo, a towel, an extra pillow, TP, etc) on both of my DVC trips (and we did not pay for extra mousekeeping, I just stopped them in the hall) and on both trips I got them with a smile.
