If you "purchase" the extra towel package, when they do trash & towels on day 4, do you have to pay a second time for the extra towels?

You would need to purchase the Towel package again.

You could also hold back any items that were clean or you would reuse.

Thank you both for responding. I should have known Disney wouldn't miss an opportunity to make money.

If you go to the pool, make sure you don't 'accidentally' bring towels back to your room.

I don't see it as a way to make money. They deliver you a towel pack and yo can keep it (if you plan) for the LOS. It might help if you know the history. Years ago they didn't charge for anything. People would ask for extras of this or that, often inappropriately so. There was one lady that ask for 12 extras of all of the shampoos, soaps, etc then when they were delivered, said something like this will make great stocking stuffers for the kids at Xmas. My personal feeling is that extra towels once for a studio is reasonable but everything else has a W/D. However most timeshares don't have a pool exchange or midweek cleaning though most don't charge if you ask for extra. Ultimately my sense is that I'd prefer to see it go away but understand it's reasons. The worst part about it to me is they are not consistent with charging people. I'd venture to guess they charge between 30 & 50% of those that order the towel packs not to mention the ones that the maids give out items when asked.

It's not Disney that makes money in this situation. It's DVC maintenance fees that pay for linens and laundry. So it's saving "us" money.

Exactly. I've seen posts where non-members say they don't understand why DVC has limited housekeeping and why we "put up" with that. We do because our dues would be double otherwise. Disney doesn't pay to operate the resort, our dues do. Paying individually leaves the choice to each member.

I never bring pool towels to my room - at any hotel, anywhere. I always bring my own so I don't have to worry about accidents.

Thanks for the history lesson. It really helps to find out why things are the way they are from other members. I still think though that if you pay for the extra towel package at the beginning of your stay, you shouldn't have to pay a second time on day 4.

We are staying in Aug. for the first time as DVC owners at the BW. I know we get trash pickup on day 4. What else is included with that. Also, since we have people coming for the first part of the trip and then others coming at the end, does paying for a full cleaning get the bedding changed also? If we were to pay for a full cleaning, do we have to reserve that ahead of time or can we arrange it at check-in. Thanks for any help.

You don't if you plan but they are not going to replace them with clean ones either.

You should also get fresh towels and replacements for the bar soap, shampoo & conditioners and an additional box of laundry detergent if you are in a villa that includes a washer & dryer.

Yes.

You can arrange for it at check-in.

What happens if you bring a pool towel back to your room?
I think what he's talking about is grabbing clean towels from the pool and bringing them back to use, not needed a wet towel to get back to the room. It costs the system money and is outside the rules.

What happens if you bring a pool towel back to your room?

Pool towels are laundered differently from room towels. If you bring a pool towel back to the room, please bring it back to the pool towel return before you leave.

As already mentioned, pool towels should not be removed from the pool area, but if you wrap one around a child or yourself to go back to your room, no one will say anything. Again, please return them to the pool return.
