mousekeeping question

Pillows, yes. Towels, yes if staying on cash through CRO. If staying on a Member Services reservatoin, you'll pay for the extra towels.

You didn't say what type room you will be staying in. If a 1-bedroom or larger then as others have stated, there is a washer and dryer in the room. We hang our towels up and let them dry daily. Not that big of a deal to use them twice. If for some reason that doesn't work out (maybe the kids forget to hang them up) then we will do what we do at home and run them in the washer while we are out at the parks. As some others have said, remember to bring things like extra laundry detergent and dryer sheets since they don't supply enough but for one load of laundry.

We have never had a problem with soap. Those bars seem small, but go a lot further than you think. We will bring (or buy when we get there) a bottle of liquid soap for washing hands that we can use in the bathroom or kitchen. Just seems to work better.

Like you said, you have to think of your DVC as HOME instead of another hotel stay on vacation.

We have wonderful antibacterial grapefuit scented foaming soap for our hands packed in our Owner's locker. One for the bath and one for the kitchen. Make the place REALLY feel like home when I have my own soap with me.

As for towels, I've asked for extra towels in the past and housekeeping has yet to charge me for them.

I suspect if you ask housekeeping, you'll seldom get charged. Particularly if you just ask the mousekeepers in the hall. But since DVC can charge you for them, its probably best to assume you will be and be grateful for the gift if the charge doesn't show up on your bill at checkout. Certainly, no one wants to be in the situation of arguing with the front desk "but this lady on the internet said I wouldn't be charged."

Ah, but I didn't say YOU wouldn't be charged for them. I said when I called and asked for a towel package they didn't charge ME. :lmao:

I wouldn't have cared if they did. For $6 or whatever the cost, it was worth it to get more towels. We'll be at AKV in a two bedroom with 7 of us in a few weeks and I'll just ask for more towels again. I agree with the two bathtowels per person so 8 just won't cut it for the 7 of us.
