I understand a four night stay means a trash and tidy after it's of no use to us, but if we want full mousekeeping service every day how much does that cost? If we are renting points will the member we rent from have to request that when making our reservation? It won't cost points will it? It's cash, right? Any details or past experiences are appreciated. Thanks!

I've been a member almost 10 years and have never paid for additional housekeeping. I actually prefer that no one is coming in the room during the day. Although I will admit most of my stays have been in a 1 bedroom, where you have a washer/dryer in the room.

If you actually want full housekeeping and are renting from a member, you can just request it when you arrive. You could ask the member to add full daily housekeeping service to your reservation but you are actually more certain to get it if you put in the order when you arrive; in fact, it is best to call the hotel's housekeeping service when you arrive and put in the request through them.

We are another family that doesn't use daily Mousekeeping especially for a short stay. We drop our trash off on our way to the parks each day and if we need extra towels we just ask for them expecting to pay.

6 bucks for fresh towels is not bad. That's all I really want if there's a place to take trash to every day. I don't need to pay $30 for someone to make the bed. Thanks for the info everyone.

We've had mousekeeping offering us towels as we leave our room on non-housekeeping days (if they're outside doing another room). I think we've even asked for a few extras if we see a housekeeper in the halls. No problems.

I suppose if you're in a studio you can't stick them in the wash.

All DVC resorts has free washers / dryers for members who are staying in studios.

At SSR & OKW they are located by pools and at VWL, AKV, BCV & BWV they
are located within building where villas are located.

You can request to have your T&T service done on a different day. If you are staying four nights, your T&T day would normally be the day before your check out day. You could opt to move it to your third day so that it occurs halfway through your stay.

One of the things that I love is the 1 br with the washer and dryer right in the room. We dry our towels after every use so they always seem perfectly fresh.

This is something I was wondering. I have stayed at hotels and motels and timeshare all over the world and the one thing we have always been able to get is extra towels (I have long hair....needs a towel of its own;) )
I kind of figured you could get a couple extra...but after reading some of this I was starting to wonder.
It is only ever big towels we like getting refreshed or a couple extra of.

They were letting us have the run of their "cart" if we wanted.. soaps, dishwasher/laundry detergent, all the towels, etc. Very friendly!

And all the other members will be paying the cost of your "raiding" the housekeeping cart. :sad2: That's why the "pay as you play" program is in place, to charge those who use the extra items, not the entire membership.

I like the use of the term "raiding".. makes me seem like a pirate. pirate:

Whenever I see posts about full mousekeeping, I feel compelled to tell our story about it. For years, the big reason we didn't buy DVC was because you didn't get daily mousekeeping. We finally bought in spite of it, planning to pay to get daily mousekeeping. But when we figured the cost, we decided to bite the bullet and forgo it, just for our first DVC stay. Well, much to our surprise, not having daily mousekeeping was great! No one in "OUR" villa. Shortly thereafter, I stayed in a non-DVC hotel, and asked mouskeeping not to come in-just open the door, place clean towels on the floor, and leave. I could tell by the looks on their faces that they thought I was doing something illegal or at least questionable in there! Not having daily mousekeeping is fine, and no one's more surprised than me to hear that!

Here is an idea we use. We take towels from the pool area when we need them. When we are done we bring them back to the pool area.

DVC asks that you not take the pool towels to your room to use. They request we use the pool towels at the pool and not in our villas.

I actually agree with this. The only thing I ever care about is towels.
I don't much care about sheets tidy and change and I can take out my own trash when the pile gets too high...hehe.
And I really like not having to make sure everything is put away everyday and all so they don't drop or move things.
It really depends on each and every place though. We stayed in the Marriott timeshare next to Paris Disney and we got trash and towel every day. We even got a toilet paper delivery (full 16 pack) on the 2nd day. (determined little man banged that door over and over...there was no denying him)
Westin timeshare also does regular trash and towel and even sheets and the pool towel system lets you take your pool towels wherever you want and you can exchange them for dry and clean at any time in the shack. They give you a certain number noted on your room number and then you exchange...one for one. I think this a MUCH MUCH better pool towel system.

I am another person who prefers not to have housekeeping service. I make the bed daily - just like at home. We always cook in our villa and run the dishwasher prior to walking out the door in the morning. We also run a load of laundry almost every day so we always have clean clothes and never come home with dirty clothes. I personally don't need a clean towel every day and can wash them if needed.. (I know a studio would have to use the DVC laundry room by the pools) but do you really need clean towels for a 4 night stay?
