Does OKW have daily mousekeeping for an 8 night stay? We're renting through DVC and wasn't sure how much tip money to bring. In guidebooks, it says there's daily cleaning, but I read somewhere on the boards that there is no cleaning except once? Anyone out there know??

Thanks!

If you're visiting as a DVC member or renting points from a DVC member, there is trash pick up once (I think Day 4, but it could be Day 3), and cleaning on Day 7. You'll want to take a couple of trash bags with you, if this is the case. Most people have to empty the trash once or twice during a one-week visit. You can get all of the information on the DVC forum.

If you've booked through WDW Travel/CRO, then it will receive daily service as a regular hotel room.

If you're renting through a member, then you should have a copy of your confirmation. On the confirmation it will tell you which day is your full cleaning and which day is your trash and towel day. You should have one of each during an 8 night stay. If you are only a seven night stay (8 days), you will only have one trash and towel day which will be after your 3rd night. Your tip, if offered, is based on the size of your unit. If you are a studio with one bathroom it would not the be same if you're a 2-bedroom with 2 bathrooms and kitchen.

If you stay at a DVC resort that you rent through Disney and paying cash per night, you then get daily mousekeeping like any other resort and you should tip accordingly if you choose.

BTW, unlike the poster above, we have always had extra trash bags available to us in our DVC unit. Most of the time they are under the trash bag, so you see them after you pull the trash bag out. There will be a room where you can drop your trash off at.

If you stay 7 nights or less, you will get your trash removed and your towels replaced on day 4. If you stay 8 nights or more, you will get a full cleaning on day 4 and your trash removed and towels replaced on day 8. If you want more frequent cleaning or extra towels you can pay for them.

I agree that there are plenty of trash bags in the villa. There is a trash room in each building or each floor, depending on what DVC resort you are staying at. You will have two garbage cans in your kitchen - one for recycling and one for ordinary trash.

Housekeeping is a non-tipped position. So unless you require extra service (young kids and leaving a mess for example), there is no expectation of a tip.

Your beds will not be made except on full cleaning days. You won't get daily clean towels so hang them up and plan on reusing them. A studio and one bedroom both get four bath towels, two hand towels and four face cloths. Double that for a two bedroom, triple it for a GV. If you need more, you'll have to pay for them.
