Mousekeepers Tip

We will be visiting WDW July 17-24. I printed the envelopes to tip the mousekeeper. But how much are we suspose to tip them. I dont want them to think I'm cheap.

Many people recommend $1 per person/per day We have 4 in our room and usually leave $4 - $5 depending on if I have singles.

In the morning I leave around 4.00, then for turndown service I leave around 3.00. THere's 3 of us going now, when it was all 5 of us with 2 seperate rooms I would leave the same in the kids room.

Where did you print envelopes from? Also, do you just leave the envelope on your pillow? Thanks!

I don't use the envelopes. I just put the money leaning up against the soap dish on the bathrrom vaniity every morning/evening.

I tip $3-5 every morning, depending on the room type and number of people in it. I also leave $2 for turndown service every evening.

This changes in a DVC unit of course.

I tip for good service. On the first day (after a night's check in) I leave about $4-5 in the soap dish which is usually in your bathroom (without soap, generally it contains a card with perhaps your housekeepers name on it). If the service is good I continue to tip the same throughout the trip - if it is horriable (like at the Polynesian concierge one time - loved concierge but their housekeeping STUNK- I don't tip at all after the first day).
Only tip for good service - that's what "tips" are all about.

We usually plan on $5 a day for 2 adults/1 child. We actually print out the envelopes and then put the money in before we leave. Now, if the service hasn't been up to snuff, then we replace the $5 with what we feel is appropriate. That way we aren't fishing around every morning, looking for money!!
