Mousecellaneous - a thread to share non-DLP related posts

I haven't started scrapbooking yet although I have loads of maps and things that I could use so I'm ready to begin! Cool to find a site in the UK with a few Disney themed supplies :thumbsup2 thanks! Otherwise here where I live, we got nothing :confused3 . Basically if it's Disney it's only Winnie the Pooh things. However the Disney Store website has revamped again and they have some amazing snow globes on sale. I want the one of Mickey laying down with all the tiny snow globes all around him..it's called Nightmares and it's really cute.

Hope they have it in Paris! Big Figs as well, I barely care what they would cost I want a Big Figure of Mickey Mouse :goodvibes .

I was really looking forward to my trip to DLP in January but this past week I've been dreadfully upset as ive split up with my boyfriend. Its a long story but im heartbroken and i just cant look forward to my trip in Jan with my parents and DD.

I was hoping you guys could cheer me up with your fave memories, pictures, tips to try and help get me back in the mood.

Right now i just feel so sad :( and im in great need of cheering up.

We went to see Disney On Ice at Birmingham today. It was fabulous ~ as always Disney excelled themselves and the show was great fun. :dance3:

Is anyone else going??

We went to Princesses on Ice last year and it was fantastic. It felt like being in Disney and I wouldnt have been surprised to step outside and find I was in the parks.
We decided to give it a miss this year but are going to High School Musical on Ice in January in Manchester.

Hi sorry to hear about your seperation. Others telling of their joys will only make you sader especially as holidays are about you and your family and the joy they bring when together so why not think of the joy you bring them and vis versa and look forward to seeing there faces and hearing the xcitment when you get to dl in jan. Try to keep smiling.

Hi there,
first of all i am sorry you split with your boyfriend, i dont know the reasons of course but - as i separated from my husband 4 years ago - i know how difficult it can be.

And iknow it can sound hard but the best thing you can do now is to start looking forward to a new life, it will take a while but you will smile again.

Said that, an holiday is what you need for you first and for your little daughter too, she has the right to be happy and it's more likely you will smile in a place such DLP than in your home and the bad thoughts keep turning inot your brain..

Please smile, it seems difficult now but the sun will shine again in your life :flower3:

Hey there. I was searching for something else when I came across this thread. I'm sorry to hear about you splitting up with your boyfriend. It's his loss. You just have to leave the past behind and look to a nice sunny future. Getting out with the family will help

Nothing anyone can say or do will make you feel better, until you are ready to feel better. The sadness you feel is completely natural and you have to experience it in order to be able to feel really happy again - it's like a grieving process, you won't get over the separation unless you mourn its loss. You can, however, get some little pick me ups by reading this board, just hearing about the adventures and misadventures others are having helps to temporarily distract you, and if you can focus on the planning, even when you don't feel like it, it will give you a sense of purpose and usefulness that can sometimes disappear when personal circumstances change suddenly.

There's a thread by busymom72 about her trip to WDW etc that (although incomplete) I would recommend as a bit of lighthearted entertainment. There's a lot to scroll through, but I found it uplifting although ultimately frustrating as she never finished it.

Give yourself time and your perspective will change, you wouldn't have written the original post if you weren't a generally postive person - so I believe you will keep taking steps in the right direction. However, don't put pressure on yourself to 'look forward' to Disney, at the very worst it will remind you what 'could have been' but will also take you and your daughter into a different world and this will give you many opportunities to deepen your bond with her. At Disney all the tools are there to make your own magic, but it won't happen without you.

Wishing you all the best
Lucy

I thought I share this randomness with you...

I was watching a copy of The Little Mermaid yesterday and the VHS it was on had some advertisement at the beginning and end of the movie. This is only funny really as because the VHS was bought in 1990, so there were no real images of Disneyland Paris, but they were trying to pass the Magic Kingdom at WDW as "EuroDisney".

I thought it was funny, but I just thought I'd share

Nice stickers stargatebarbie :thumbsup2
We were in Birmingham this weekend and, as we don't have a Disney Store near us, I hit theirs with a vengeance!! :rotfl:

Kristina, I didn't see this snowglobe at DLRP although that's not to say they don't have it there. I did see a couple of Big Figs this time, there was a Mickey and a Minnie in the Art of Animation shop in the Studios. :thumbsup2

BTW, I'll just move this over to the Mouscellaneous thread as it's not specifically DLRP trip-planning. :)

Love the photos everyone put in here..was there many years ago...one of my favorite meals ever..still looks great

Thank you Ware Bears! The Big Fig that I really want is the Mickey and Minnie one where they are together going to the park with the tickets in their hands. I wish I could buy it and save a bit taking it on the plane with me but something tells me I would have to have it shipped haha :) ! That one item would lay claim to all my souvenir money but I would be one happy girl!

Also, I'm looking forward to your trippie :thumbsup2. One more week for me!

Thank you for the report - it looks fantastic.

Booked to eat here in a couple of weeks - can't wait.

Hello everyone,

I am currently studying marketing at University and have been assigned the task of analyzing Disneyland Paris. I have a few questions for those of you that attended the park over the years.

Were there any major differences between the American parks and Disneyland Paris?

Were there any elements of European culture present at Disneyland Paris such as unique dining habits (serving wine)?

Were there any improvements that could be made to the staff or attractions (wait times for example)?

An overarching question would be: what exactly is it about Disney that draws you to the different parks? What sort of history do you have with the brand?

The task is to look at the issues that were facing around the mid-90s so if anyone has any ideas regarding the changes they made during that time or if anyone went to the park during that time it would be greatly appreciated. It is also meant to analyze Disney as a brand and what sort of factors go into customers choosing to go to the parks.

Any thoughts in general in these areas would be great. Thanks in advance, any comments would be very helpful in the study.
