Hi everyone,

Well, Tink33, Califgirl, my dd, Kelly & I spent the majority of yesterday figuring out quests, and traversing Disneyland in our goal to answer every question during MouseAdventure. We were told that there were 653 players, and 192 teams (family, basic, & advanced). The game started at 9am with introductions and trivia, and ended at 3:30 when we had to turn in our answer sheet.

This was our third time, and we really did well as a team. I don't think we'll ever best those teams with Disney cast members, but we have placed pretty well in the last two events, and hopefully will do so again this time.

It was a lot of fun. Our team was the DIS Divas. We do not have pics since we weren't allowed to use or have cameras, but the Mouseplanet folks took tons of pictures, and hopefully we'll be able to post them here, when they upload them. :)

We were there yesterday and saw all the teams. What was your team "uniform?"

Hi Mary Jo!!

So what was this that you did as a team?? :confused3 Was it answering Disney trivia? Or a treasure hunt of sorts?

Hope you did well! When will you find out?

Thanks, and it sounds like you had fun!:dance3:

We wore black t-shirts with DIVA spelled out in diamond-like gems. ;) And since we are the DIS Divas, our feather boas were lime green. :thumbsup2 (because of course, a Diva must have her feather boa .. right?)

What we did as a team is a little more difficult to describe, as the quests are so different from one to another. I can't think of one that is simple to describe right now .. Most include several parts to the puzzle and that often leads to another puzzle that you must solve for the final answer. We had quests in Critter Country, Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, a trick or treat quest, and two sets of 'eye spys', as well as the New Orleans Quest. We had from 10am - 3:30 to complete all of this, and most teams were feeling the time crunch. In order to even get the Halloween 'eye spy' quest we had to find some people 'hidden in plain sight' somewhere near the rivers of America from frontierland to Critter Country. That was nuts! We walked by them at least once before we saw them.

Ok, let me try to explain a quest - one of the easier ones.. This quest had pictures of 9 different railing styles in New Orleans Square. Once you found the railing, you put the street number of the building directly below the picture. Some of the number boxes under the pictures were shaded. Under the numbers (that were under the pics of the railings) there was a list of 'random' letters. like this:

Picture of Railing
2 1

r

Then on the back was a coded message that consisted of numbers. Every time we used a 1 for instance we would go to the 1 in the shaded box and use the top letter, next time there was a 1 we would use the next letter in the column, etc. until we solved the message.
The message was : according to the station sign, what is the elevation of this land? meaning of course, NOS. So you had to go to the NOS train station, find the sign that gives the elevation (144 feet) and that was the answer.

The day was really fun and we had a blast. So many people stopped us to ask what we were doing and as much as we want to share what we were doing, the truth is we were in a timed game and there was no time to stop and chat. So mostly we just said, "it's a scavenger hunt" and went running off to where the next clue took us. I'll tell you that by the end of the day we were so glad to be able to sit down.

WOW!!!! This is quite involved!! I would be totally lost I'm sure!!

And your uniforms sound perfect!! Pictures would be fun to see!

We were there yesterday and some everyone running around with clipboards and pencils. Now I know what they were doing. I figured it was some type of quest or something.

Didn't see your team, but it looks like you had lots of competition. Sounds like lots of fun and a great way to explore the park.

We did have a really good time.

Here are a couple of pics from Mouseplanet.

I'm a mouseplanet reader too and when I found out mouseadventure was the same weekend we were going to be there I thought about doing the family team but we have 5 and you could only have 4. Plus we were only there for 3 days and I didn't want to take up one whole day but I would LOVE to do this some time. I saw alot of the teams and loved all the different outfits. I saw the sports themed team and some of the military themed ones. I know I saw you guys too. Looked like fun but you guys all looked exhausted and it was obvious you guys had to run back and forth several times.

I know at one point I came off splash and I noticed on one of the papers it had several pics of the flags at the pooh meet and greet. It all looked like the same pic. Then I figured out when I saw the clipboards and the numbered name tags around people's necks that it was mouseadventure. I also happened to be at the party during the mouseplanet night but I didn't notice anyone. We were too busy doing our own thing.

Looks like fun though. Hope you guys did well!

Ooh THAT quest! The quest with the banners near the Pooh meet and greet was very tricky. They gave us five series of pictures from Critter Country and each picture had the name of a menu item from hungry bear restaurant below it. The series were - 1)The banners with the characters for the meet and greet. 2) The box around a light (I think it was a light) of four pics of the pooh characters, 3)the Seed signs on the side of the building, 4)The hunny pots found inside the store, and 5) three different "houses" Mr.Bluebirds house, Mr Spenzers house (on the roof) and Mr. Owls house. The had altered (photo shopped) ONE of each of the series and we had to figure out which one. Not as easy as it seems, as the changes were very subtle. For instance, on the banners we were counting leaves, and checking expressions to try to find out which photo was different from the real banner. (It turned out that Tigger was missing his whiskers.) Once you decided which one was changed, then you had to find the price of the food item that was listed below each 'altered' picture at the Hungry Bear Restaurant. then you had to add up the prices for all the items and THAT was the answer. I'm almost 100% sure we got that one correct. (according to the debriefing on MousePlanet)

The scores and placings come out tomorrow.

:cool1: :cool1: Woo Hoo! We did it!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

This event took place the day we flew back home, so we missed seeing all the hubbub. Sounds like it was a lot of fun again!

Thank you for describing some of the quests, they're very clever! And congratulations on your Top Ten finish, that's awesome!!! :yay:
