Ohhh.. what to they run? Basic pair is $15 I think? Not sure, but I know that the embroidering of your name is free with purchase.
One thing I didn't know: you have to be actually inside park gates to get your name on them. Even in the big Disney Store in DTD right outside, they won't do it. It's proof you've been there, I guess!
I didn't even notice the name embroidering thing. My DS got a pirate pair in NOS and no one mentioned embroidering and we did not see that anywhere. I have since seen the same pair of ears with names on them........
I know the mad hatter store does names(next to teacups) and the hat store on main street does names as well. I would assume that you could take your hat there and have them put the name on them.
yes, both the mad hatter and on mainstreet put names on the hats that you buy IN the park. you have to show a receipt.
if you don't have a receipt, you can pay for embroidery at the shop on the corner of main street, kitty corner from the hat shop, accross from the emporium. it's kind of in the back room type area, smaller section. i had them do my name in black on the pumpkin ears, just to make sure i could see it.
now, if you get the build - a -ears hats in toontown, i believe you have to pay for embroidery on those mouse ears.
Hello,
We visited MK last Easter 08 and these "Build your own Ears" were at the Main Street Hat Shop. I have heard they are ONLY in Florida though, and not at California as of yet.. but if anyone has seen different let me know.
Someone on another forums has posted this information, and taken these pictures. It pretty much sums up what I was about to post, then I remember this which explained it much better..

Guests can choose from a wide variety of beanie, ears and patches to create their own mouse ears. Ears can be mixed and matched. They attach with simple snaps. Patch are simple peel and stick and are heat sealed by cast members at completion. Lettering is available in a pre-packaged set of stickies -or- you can add a proper name with computerized embroidery. Ears are priced individually at $2.50. Beanies are $5.95. Patches are $2.95. Package of letters is $5.95. Embroidery is also available for an additional fee. The embroidery is computerized and while it is a script font the stitching style is different so the lettering is not as bold. Currently three colors are available pink, gold and yellow. Pictured to the left and right of the patches are the pre-packaged letters and "RESERVED" stickers used to mark off the spot for your embroidered name while you place your other patches on your beanie. Variety of patches. Guests simply peel and stick the patches wherever they want them on their mouse ears and the cast members heat seal them upon completion. They also sell a pack of letters for $5.95.
Just a note as I didn't see it mentioned. When you do the Build-a-Ears, traditional script embroidery (like they use everywhere else when you buy pre-assembled ears) in black, gold, and maybe white is free. If you choose the other fonts (and colors), they do charge. Also, I didn't see individual letters like mentioned by the PP. Otherwise the pricing looks exactly the same, as does the merchandise from the photos (except they have Sleeping Beauty Castle, not Cinderella's). The store for this in DL is over in Toontown. I don't remember the name but I think its the only store in that area.
