Motorcycle trip, which month, Sept or Oct???

DH and I would like to take a trip from Pennsylvania to Florida on our motorcycle next year. We would take Amtrak AutoTrain down to Sanford, and ride the whole way down the Atlantic to Key West, then up the Gulf coast. Planning on a 2 week or slightly less time frame. Our trip home would be on the motorcycle the whole way, no Amtrak.

We would hit WDW for a few days. This would be our first trip with no kiddos!!!! (nothing wrong with children, just can't wait to enjoy a VERY leisurely pace!!) Not sure what time of the year to plan this. I am thinking either September or October. Not sure what is going on at the World at this time, or if there are any dates that I would want to avoid due to large crowds????

Any input, advice, or ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Middle September is always some of the lightest times of the year. Kids are back in school so most parents don't want to take them out of school right when they get back. Also the weather is a little cooler

There is Biketober Fest over in Daytona Beach in Oct.

I think DH and I narrowed it down to the end of September.

Unfortunately, plan on being home by the time this event goes on.
