So I am taking my sis-in-law to be on a 3 day in September. We are escaping our kids and our men for girl time. She has never been on a cruise and get motion sickness....
I have always stayed in a verandah room and due to costs... we have to stay in an ocean view or inside stateroom.
Where should we be looking to get a room on the boat?
Higher floor? Front? Back or Middle of boat? Do you feel more on a lower level of the boat???
Thanks for the help!

Most people will say the lower you go and to the middle of the ship you will feel the least amount of motion. The higher and more forward or aft you go you'll feel more. We were on deck two in the middle of the ship and felt very little movement. The waves werent really that high though either, i think about 8- 10 feet.

We were in an aft inside stateroom on Deck 7 and really felt little motion most of the time, and certainly not enough to make us sick. The place where my stomach went in my throat a couple times was in the Walt Disney Theater. Seemed like the motion got pretty strong toward the bow at times.

I was going to comment that the Walt Disney Theatre is where I felt the most motion. I also felt some in Animator's Palette and Parrot Cay.

If your SIL is prone to motion sickness I would suggest she pack Bonine, Dramamine or talk to her doctor about the patch. I get motion sickness pretty easily, but people told me it wouldn't bother me on such a big ship. HA! I felt awful the first night right after we left port. However, I took the SeaCalm they offer on the ship and felt much better. I just couldn't drink alcohol with it because it would make me fall asleep.

I am someone who always gets motion sickness but I had no trouble on either of the two Disney Cruises we went on. We stayed in a category 8 which are forward and were on decks 6 and 7. I had no problem on the 7night cruise and only felt the ship one time when we were in the Walt Disney Theatre. I brought Dramamine just in case...but I never needed to use it.
