Anyone out there take anything to prevent motion sickness? I have tried dramamine but it really didn't help with the rides at DLR..

Thanks in advance!

I too have tried Dramamine because I get sick when Flying. I have found that Bonine...Found it at Walmarts in the same section, always on the bottom shelf, works great for me. It doesnt cause drowziness and takes away the motion sickness. Hope it helps or someone else has some great info for you!!;)

For sea-sickness, I take ginger tablets. Same with heaps of my friends for varying types of motion sickness. Might be worth a shot.

I've suffered from motion sickness since I was a child (and take it even as a passenger in the front seat if there's any chance I'll have to look at a map or turn around to deal with children) and I must third the recommendation for Bonine (sp?). Absolutely better than dramamine.

I get the "cruise patch" aka : http://transdermscop.com/ from my doctor. It worked great last year!

My first year, I took Dramamine, and while it works okay for air travel, there is no way I could do rides and air travel with it.

I use the scopolamine patches as well (sometimes called Transderm). They are the size and color of a small round bandaid, you place it behind your ear and they control motion sickness for up to 3 days. They make me a bit drowsy the first day, but that's it. Another side effect I've noticed is incredibly dry mouth - bring water with you everywhere! And they didn't control the motion sickness enough for me to tackle the Teacups! Had to sit and take a few deep breaths after that one!;)

There aren't that many rides at Disneyland that actually cause motion sickness problems. I stay off the tea cups and the ladybugs and I'm pretty much okay. Last trip I took the ginger root pills and I didn't have any problems, except when we went on Mickey's Fun Wheel in the sliding cars - we won't be doing that again .

I get motion sickness every time I get on a plane or boat (or even long car rides) I just avoid the rides that make me sick such as the tea cups and definitely Soarin'.

I don't do teacups or ladybugs, but missing soarin, no way. That is one of the best rides ever!!

ginger products are good. But what I found works wonderful is this bands you put around your wrist and they apply pressure on the right area to prevent motion sickness. I used them my whole first trimester when pregnant, thanks to my accupuncturist and they worked great. They also work great for boat sickness and it's all natural. You just have to make sure to put them on both hands to balance you out. They cost about $10 here for both of them and can be found in a drug store. Good luck!
