I don't recall anyone posting info about them. I've seen a lot of posts about the ones at SSR but not at VB or other resorts. I hear all DVC resorts are going to them. If it's been discussed thoroughly in the past I apologize.

We were in a 1bdrm in bldg 14 last August and it did not have the new t-stats yet. Did have a sizeable and noisy dehumidifier though. We ended up moving it into the hallway because of the level of noise. I ended up emptying the gallon bucket 3 or more times a day. It really made a difference in air comfort though and in the end we really appreciated it.

We're in building 14 right now. This unit does have the new system in it. It's a wireless system with a sensor for each door and a motion sensor for each BR and the LR. The module for the AC was bad so when they tried to bypass it, it wouldn't work. They finally had to change the entire system including all sensors since they are frequency matched. The maint person said he was pretty sure the ones in the Inn were the same as SSR.

OK, enough of the teaser, here's how to bypass it. You hold the F/C button in until it says Bp then let it go. When it comes back on it'll be in Cent so you'r need to push it once more to get the F reading. It then works like a regular thermostate. I think the bypass at SSR is good for 72 hours but apparently for this one it's only good for 48 hours. They ask you to set it up when you're not there.

BCV has the motion activated sensors and has since it opened.

We're here right now and for the life of me, I couldn't remember the directions last night. The studio section was already on bypass but the one bedroom wasn't. I was going to log on to the DIS to find out how to do it today but my husband had already called this am. So now it is nice and cool in here.:cool1:

Have fun, Dean.

Does BWV have them? I would think if BCV does, BWV may. I don't remember them having them, but I haven't stayed since 2001 as I was at SSR in 2005.

We're back in 2007 (July) so I certainly want to make sure we get the bypass going!

I just stayed at CSR for a conference and they had those thermostats. We had to call maintenance to do the bypass thing. Unless you know how to bypass you are stuck with the temperature disney sets and if none is in the room all day it can get warm for some people. Thanks Dean for the instructions. nancy

Thanks Dean. I've got to find a place to store that info where I will find it next year!
