Motion difference between decks 5 & 7?

Okay, weird question here. :) Our stateroom next cruise is #5127, deck 5 aft. (a cat. 11) Before that, we've been in 5132 twice. I love the convenience of 5 aft, especially with all the back-and-forth we do between the room and the club/lab.

One of the things I love most is the rocking of the ship, especially at night... like being rocked to sleep in a giant cradle. I can't even express how much I love it. I know that the higher up you are, the more pronounced the motion is. I'm just wondering, is it a noticable difference? How much difference between 5 and 7, or even 5 and 6?

The other reason I'm asking is because I think the cat. 11's on 6 are the ones that have the pull-down berth, is that right? My DS would just go nuts for that. :)

Thanks in advance for any comments!

In addition to the wisdom of the higher up you go, the more pronounced the rocking, the same is also true for the farther out from the center of the ship (inside v. outside, Aft and Forward v. Mid).

Keep in mind that Cat 11 on Deck 6 and 7 is an inside stateroom (with the main bed closest to the inside wall. That means you are just about in the inside center of the ship.

Now my experience is limited to Deck 6 and 7 outside staterooms (Verandas) between Mid Ship and slightly forward, and we've also done the Cat 11 on Deck 7.

It is my opinion based on this experience that the condition of the seas will have a greater impact on how much you feel the ship rocking than your room position. However, my experience does not include staying very far Aft, Forward, or down on Deck 1 or 2.

Yes, we were moved from Deck 5 AFT to Deck 7 MID on our 10/25 cruise - didn't like all the motion on Deck 7 at all. But being susceptible to motion sickness, that's understandable.

Mom and Michael didn't care much for Deck 7 either, the convenience of Deck 5 AFT (to EVERYTHING) makes us all happy campers!!!
