:sunny:

TWINS!! OMG!!!:earsgirl: :earsgirl:   !!

DEAR LORD IN HEAVEN... GOD BLESS YOU!!

I have a 14 y.o. son who is home from school sick today with a fever, he's achey and has a sore throat, want to trade? ;)

YES Blondie I will trade you!!

Kims,,, she is up to no good... talk to you about it later.. promise..

Joan,
Boy do I feel for you!! :( ;)

My DD is 18 and just graduated - I was telling my husband and our pastor the other day that I wouldn't want to go back to when she was 14 for anything!!

She didn't do overtly horrible things - but age 14 was the roughest patch to muddle through.....

The good news is that she will come out of it and return to being the sweet and cute little girl you so love and adore!! :)::yes::

:wave2: Me! Mine was in a nasty mood this morning because she couldn't find her capri pants and it's 85* here today. To quote her, "Now I'm going to be hot, miserable and cranky all day" to which I replied, "Well, the 'hot' might be a change, but the miserable and cranky is pretty typical these days."

THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I was feeling very alone in my state of dismay of daughter..

It helps alot to know that misery loves company! Big Hugs to all!

and Mermaid.. I think your dd and my dd are very connected.. I had the EXACT same discussion with Cam yesterday!!!

Briar Rose.. RUN.. RUN for your life!!! LOL....

Tomorrow will be a better day!! That is my mantra!!

I have two daughters, 20 months a part. They are now 21 and 23. I'd just like to say that it doesn't last. There is an end to the madness. My girls are my best friends. Not perfect, but a joy to have around. I remember 14, and would never wish it on my worst enemy.

Hope this helps. Hang in there. Someday you'll have your adorable daughter back, and it'll be better than ever.

You people are scaring me, lol. Mine is only 23 months so I have a ways to go, but I hope it goes really slow until then.

OK so is this a slow phase or a fast phase? DD, 14, acts like I don't know what I am talking about or who I am. If I hear "Oh Mother" one more time.....or when you ask for confirmation on something you just said she will look at you like you are not fit to be in the same house with her and say "I said yes" in her most snotty voice! DFriend keeps telling me it will pass.....I have 1 more girl and 2 more boys to go through this teenage stuff with. DS 15, knock on wood-I have not seen his report card yet, lol:eek: , is not bad so far.

My youngest dd is 14.

Anyone read in the newspaper "For Better or Worse". Thier daughter (April) in the comic strip is 13-14 and she went on a car trip to her sisters graduation with her parents. She pulled a hat over her head and put ear phones on cause she is so embarrased to be with her parents riding in the car. I just sit and laugh with that comic strip.

Do you think further in age, the worse it is. We are 28 years apart. She told me when she was in Kindegarden she was so worried that I would be really old when she got to be a teenager. She does tell me now she is so relieved to find out I'm not really that old. Just don't embarass her around her friends and don't say anything stupid.

Oh thank you, thank you, thank you.. for making me ROTFLMAO!!!

It really is helping!!

I have images of LINDA BLAIR in THE EXORCIST racing thru my shriveled brain!!! That character MUST have been 14!!
I am doubting that she was possessed by Satan.. rather I think it was 14 year old female hormones!!

I have been thru this with the boys.. but it was different.

My middle son, Jake is 16 and he is just an easy kid.. far from perfect... but just has been easier than the others. I think God just wanted to give me a break..

Cameo is the last one to deal with.. but the grandkids want to live with Gramma Joan and Grampa Straw-Barry!!! OMG!!!!

Well, my 14 year old DD just turned 15, and so far, not much has changed, but people tell me I'm at least on TOP of the hill now - and she should get less moody over the next couple years. I can only hope! ;)

aww,, sorry Joan, I have one of my own, and I sometimes mourn the 8 year old version of herself.

OHMari,, I have been cracking up at what a teenager April has become on 'for better or worse',, it is soooooooooo much like my sweet 13 1/2 dd is becoming,,lol. I touched her hand recently when we were out,, and you would have thought I burned her with a hot poker,,LOL. This same child came and crawled in bed with me days later, wanting to cuddle,, so gotta love and appreciate those moments when they happen, and try not to hold the bad moments against them. :)

I think it's normal for teenage girls to expirence some level of 'mood disorders', at least this is what the school psychologist said to me. I totally believe it.

It does get better. My DD is 18 and home from college for the summer. She really turned out to be a remarkable young woman. It was hard to imagine this outcome back when she was 14.

My advice is to remember they have to act this way, otherwise you'd never be able to let them go. It's how they are wired so as to not break their parents' hearts when they leave the nest!

Good luck!
