Any know what they are doing or what their families have planned..

DH and DS will be going to his last soccer game of the regular season... (they'll meet up w/ us later)...

DD, DS7 and I will be attending Dsis graduations which seems to be an old day event.. :(

So for Mother's Day I will be entertaining my kids trying to keep them from not bouncing off a wall at a college graduation.. So, it will be another day of Mommy to the rescue...

Hope everyone has a wonderful day..
Now off to get stuff done here...

Mothers day at out house will consist of me getting alge eaters for the fish tank YUCK but I'll plaster the smile on and say thank you and hand out the hugs.
As for the party I'll make a pasta salad for Tom's grammie and we'll spend the day with her and 1 uncle and 2 aunts. next weekend we'll celbrate with a big cookout and do my birthday. My mom's in Boston with her mother this weekend so it's not a lot of fun to celebrate with out her.

We will be going to the Elks Club for a Mother's Day breakfast. The proceeds will go toward DD's Special Olympic swim team. Afterward we'll attend a horse show my DN is competing in.

Later in the afternoon, we'll have cake for DD's birthday.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DD!!!!!!!!

Love your Auntie Buffy

as for mommy's day. Nada, zilch, zip. Taking DH to the airport. wah hoo......

But I am going scrapping with Ms. Lisa tomorrow!!! :teeth:

We are taking MIL out to lunch on Sunday, and then next Wednesday (when we can all get together), we are taking my mom out to eat.

I keep reminding DH that this is "technically" my first Mother's Day. I think he has something up his sleeve, but I don't know! :rotfl2:

EXACTLY SIOH!!! It is your first mother's day!!!

I know my girlfriends had a big party for me because I was the first one to have a child in our group!!!

Everyone have a wonderful day... :)
I was just checking things and guess what.. it's also my mom's birthday! Double whammy day!!

We are probably taking my MIL to DH's family restaurant (which is about an hour and 15 minutes from here). DH's siblings pretty much run it so that way she can have lunch and be with all her kids.

we were going out to eat as it is my oldest sisters turn to do the meal and god forbid she cook!!!!! then mom decided that she's not up to going out to eat, so i called sis and told her that and she's all bent out of shape. so we are doing brunch. where you ask????? well my house of course. i probably have the smallest house out of all of us, and that sis has the biggest house. (straight out of better homes and gardens!!!) so now i'm left trying to throw together a brunch today after swim. i have no idea what to make. i called her last night and she was pretty cold to me. she's mad that we are not going out to eat. i told her if she wanted to go out then go. no body's making her come here. her girls will be here because they want to be with my mother. after all we have had a terrible year so far (with my mom's health). you would think she would want to spend it with her. i don't know. i don't get her. dh says just let it go. and i will for mom's sake. i just needed to vent.
thanks guys for listening.

 Is your sis always like this or is just in denial about almost loosing your Mom?

Just make a crustless quiche (if you don't have a pie crust in the freezer), put some bacon & sausage in the oven, some rolls in later to warm up and you are good!

PO3, I'm sorry your sister is behaving so childishly, but I know you'll do a great job making Mother's Day special:).

DH and the kids will go to church as usual, I'll beat myself up with the Biggest Loser videos, and then my big plan is to act surprised when I open my new Pooh carts:). I'd really like to just have the day to scrap. I've got a bunch of ideas floating around for the ABC element swap and I'd like to start trying them out. Our mothers are no longer with us, so Mother's Day really is all about me until my girls grow up and become moms.

no she's always like this. it's all about her. we take turns cooking so it's fair and that the same person does not get stuck cooking for every holiday. so i did easter, because my mom had just come home from the hospital and did not want to go out. (she was staying with us at the time- she's now home at her own house) and sis said at the easter dinner table, i'll do mother's day......
fast forward-it's mothers day folks. you said you would do it, right? what's the problem. no. she wants to go out to eat so she does not have to cook. really. ok still venting.....sorry.

 po3, sorry she's making everything so hard. Just make it a special day for your mom and enjoy your time together!

We are going to take my MIL out to lunch today. My mom is on vacation, so I am not doing anything with her and then tomorrow I get to do nothing and I am thrilled!:)

Everyone is working at my house, except DS16. So, I'm thinking that it's going to be rather uneventful for me...

PO3, good for you stepping in and making it a comfortable day for your mom. Vent away here... even though you are stressing about it, you are doing the right thing. Your DH is probably right, but it's so hard to let those things go...

SIOH-

 Happy 1st Mother's Day!!!

And for all of us that are doing "mom stuff" with/for our kids on our day... Happy Mother's Day to us too :goodvibes

Big hugs PO3! I don't understand it when family acts like this especially when someone is sick. My SIL did something similar when my uncle was sick with cancer. I don't get it! :confused3 That said I know you will do something fabulous (wish I could help with the menu- AWM's sounds yummy!). Just remember that your DIS buddies love you!

Hugs PO3. Don't let her ruin your day.. .This is another reason my sis and I don't include my brother in things.. we handle it on our own..because he mysteriously hours before an event can't find money, or his keys, or his brains!

My plans are call my mom (she's in WA state) go to church, our church does a beautiful service on Mother's day in the flower garden at the Catholic High School, brunch at a new restaurant we've been wanting to try. DD took her daddy shopping today, so there will be a gift of some sort.

Other than that just a low key day, things have been so crazy and will continue for the next few weeks that I am looking forward to just reading the paper in the afternoon and putting my feet up. DH said he will BBQ something for dinner, so I don't have to do ANYTHING!
