Ok, so my DH & I will be in Orlando for a conference the Thurs - Sat before Mother's day. My DH suggested to me that we stay over Saturday night and "do something." (For me, that means WDW, and he knows that.) So, my mom would have the kids. She lives an hour away, on the way to Orlando. I haven't been with her on mother's day in a while. DMIL & FIL (live in same town) will arrive on the day we leave from two weeks in the mediterranean, so no sympathy there. We would come home on Sunday and have dinner with my mother and my kids.

Here's my dilema:
1- The Sunday would be one of two my DH is allowed to take off all year, aside from illness, etc. We already have plans for one of them for our weeklong Sept WDW trip with the kids and our friends.
2- I'm away from my kids that morning on Mother's day. You see them below? Aren't they adorable? I think so, anyway.
3- We wouldn't have much time in WDW... We are in the conference until 1 on Sat and would have to leave about noon on Sunday. So, there's that money, unless we spring for those AP's I wish we had money for.
4- I really, really would love some time alone with DH in WDW, somewhere. We accidentally went to WDW for our honeymoon and again for our 2nd anniversary alone. My DH will be gone from us a LOT more this year for weekend trips and even a 2 week trip to Africa. So, I would Love to have some time with him, but then, we'll be together just us for the conference.

Factor:
the P&PP nights that were released for May and then taken down, suggest that there may or may not be a P&PP the Friday night of the conference. There's a thing that night, but it's really just a performance that we could skip, so we would really have from 3:45 that afternoon until...
The Calendar on the official site has MK closing at 7 pm the nights of those parties, so maybe it will still happen?!?

Then, we could go to that, I could get my fix, DH would still get credit, we wouldn't have to take off work that Sunday, and we could get our kiddos and be back to normal. Maybe we could do a little outlet shopping Sat before heading home.

So, I've said all of this to say... Would you do this? Would you leave your kids on Mother's Day?

Do you *want* to spend Mother's Day on an adult trip to WDW? Because really, that's the only factor that matters and it sounds like you do.

Mother's Day is a day to appreciate YOU. It is not about making your children happy- the whole point is that this day is to honor YOU and if what you want is a grown-ups only date then you're darn well entitled! Make that man take you out and spoil you as thanks for producing his lovely children. Enjoy your day!

I agree. Could your mom bring the kids and meet you at WDW? That would be my dream Mother's Day with my mom (and my dad if it's my dream) and my kids at MK. However, this has to be about what will make your day special.

I love the idea of your mom bringing them up to meet you and spending WDW together for MD. However if that does not work out I would not stress over the morning with DH. You children are really young (and yes , really cute), they have no clue you are suppose to spend MD morning with mom. They will be just as happy to see you later in the day (with a gift from WDW I am sure).
I vote for the AP's if that can happen!;)

Thanks guys! I appreciate the support! I love the DIS! I honestly am not sure what I want to do. I would LOVE to go to the P&PP if they have it, but I've always wanted some more time in Epcot to do WS thoroughly. I've got to crunch those numbers for the APs again. :goodvibes

Do whatever you'll enjoy. It's your day. I planned a girls weekend with my friends and then realized that it was also mother's day weekend. At first I felt the tiniest bit of guilt but to be honest, I'm with my kids 24/7. One day will not make a difference. I really need a break. And if I could talk my girlfriends into Disney, I would soooo do that instead of what we have planned (fun, but not a trip to Disney).
