Mother problems

Ever since my Dad died, my Mother has changed into a totally different person. She chose to live with my brother since he has younger kids and mine were in college and I worked. My brother and I do not get along and never have. He thinks the world should revolve around him. His family would not go to my sons wedding, because his son was not picked to be an usher, he was 13 and it was a small bridal party. Well, now that my Mom is with him, she wants nothing to do with me. I have tried and she does not even want to meet her great grandkids, they are 1 and 2. Is anyone else estranged from their mother? I just feel awful about this, but believe me I have tried. She is 80 and I do not know if I will ever see her alive again!

Thanks for the hugs. My estrangement definitely has to do with my brother. His wife has a history of not speaking to some family member at any given time. They went 2 years not speaking to her mother, and then when she was speaking to her mother, she was not speaking to her father, they are divorced. This lasted about 5 years. I guess it is my turn. By the way, I have a great relationship with my MIL.

I am so sorry, too. I cannot imagine why she would alienate her own child, no matter HOW stupid your brother is.

I hope it works itself out. Life is too short.
