mother of bride/groom

i dont know if your families are similar to mine in where my mom mob is so opposite mog. I want to make sure that they both look like moms not grandmoms and not like a bridsmaid. i was wondering what everyone mob/g is wearing

our moms wore totally different outfits. we let them choose what they wore. my mom wore an off-white shift dress with jacket...it was very "mom" appropriate. DH's mom wore a long, plum, sleeveless chiffon dress. Very nice also, but you see how they are totally different types of dresses.

My BM's wore very "bridesmaid-y" dresses, meaning that we got them at Alfred Angelo, not Macy's. I think that if we had gotten them at Macy's, MIL might have looked more like them, but then I'm sure that she would have picked something else to wear...

I didn't worry about it b/c I knew that they wouldn't be inappropriate. sorry if this doesn't help you...

that is so funny. becasue my mom is also lookingat the jacket things and my future mil wants something like that very straight and sleevless. It is so funny. i am glad i am not the only one. i just dont want either to feel out of place
