My daughter and I just got back from our annual birthday weekend. We leave the "boys" at home and head up for two nights to celebrate her December birthday. This year we stayed at the Shades of Green and had a wonderful exprience there. The breakfast buffet is amazingly cheap (11.00 total for both of us..one adult and one child) and was really great for the money. I think anyone can eat there as it is open to golf club patrons and well worth the trip to escape the disney prices!

We went to Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo for her makeover on Saturday and she got the Princess hair. She loved the attention and pampering. Something they put in her hair irritated her skin but they did a great job. The only downer there was the fact that the salon is SMALL and there were some kids there with six to eight family members who took up all the space. One little boy had three people video taping him and grandmothers and other kids running around. I could not even move. Not fair. I loved the whole experience though and recommend it for little girls.

Dinner at the castle was great. We rode some rides and then were seated fairly quickly. Cinderella was great and had some extra time to share with the kids. The food was mediocre (I had the prime rib) but the pictures came out wonderful and they gave me extra copies as a surprise. Lots of birthday attention for her as well.

Garden Grill and the Candlelight processional were the next night. The food at the Garden Grill is okay but the service and characters were AMAZING. Pluto, Mickey and Chip and Dale actually brought my daughter a cake (which I did not order) and oohed and ahhed over her for a long time. She was in her glory! They actually fed her some of the cake. It was priceless!

The Candlelight was magical. My son lost a friend last week in a bike accident and when Stephen Chapman narrated and the music was being sung I just sat there, held my daughter, and cried. It was moving and so well done. I will really try to go each year to see it, it is so special.

Finally, when we were headed out to our car at Epcot on the parking tram the rear driver must have seen my daughter's birthday button because she announced her birthday and people started to sing to her. It was the cap to a wonderful, magical weekend that I will never forget. My baby turned 8!!! :thumbsup2

I will post pics tomorrow!

You are so lucky to live in Florida. Glad you had a great time with your dd.
