has anyone done the mother/daughter spa package at the gf?? is it worth the price?? thanks!

I've not done the mother/daughter spa package at the Grand Floridian but I have had various spa treatments there and my daughter has had the 'my first spa experience package' (facial, manicure, pedicure were the components of her package). IMO, the service and treatments are quite good and 'worth' the money, but I find that the GF spa staff make a harder sales push for the products used during a treatment than does the staff at Saratoga Springs.

The same, or quite similar, treatment packages are offered at Saratoga Springs, and I prefer the Saratoga Springs spa over the Grand Floridian. My favorite spa package at Saratoga Springs is the Mystical Forest Retreat and I do think it is a very good value for the price. My daughther was 13 last year when she had the spa package. The year before when she was 12 she had the 'first' facial and manicure. She enjoyed both experiences. I suggest checking to find out if there is an age limit (e.g., does the child need to be 10 or older). When my daughter was under 12, she would take part in one of the GF's children's activities (e.g., Pirate Cruise) and I would go for a spa treatment.

Given the age of your daughters, have you considered the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique treatment (it seems to be an activity in line with you get at a Libby Liu shop at the mall) in the World of Disney store in Downtown Disney? I'm not sure of the cost but it might be an activity more in line for young girls your children's age than the spa.

What are the prices for the SSR one? I was thinking of this for my mom and I (we're girly girls through and through, lol) and I keep forgetting to check on prices. Do you need to make reservations far in advance?

We are DVC members. My DD and I had a mother daughter day at SSR and with the discount we paid $484. I had a pedi, massage (with reflexology) and a facial. My DD was thrilled, but let's face it- she is 8. I thought the facial was a little lacking- I have had much better at lesser spas. The pedicure was nice, but nothing spectacular. I have had the same in a local salon for A LOT LESS. But all in all, it was a nice experience, but I do not think I will rush to do it again.

the price is 490.00 for the package. i am not sure how quickly they book up. i am actually doing it w/ my mom and 2 daughters so we had to coordinate two sessions. i booked in december and there was not a problem w/ the times i wanted.
