Anyone have any feedback on Mother and Daughter Spa Day at Saratoga Springs Spa? It is DW 50th birthday and I know she would love to have DD12 tag along!

We did this - we personally thought it was very over-priced. :(

I compared spa pricing at AKL vs. SSR and while SSR offer so much more, AKL with what they have to offer is much less in cost for the same treatments and minutes.

I just went on Animal Kingdom's page (from Disney.com) and a free coupon popped up for $50 off any two services at their massage center. It was just a link underneath Massage and Fitness center.

DD (now 23) and I did a mani-pedi together a few years ago and it was wonderful! :cloud9: Pricey, but no more than you would expect to pay for the same spa treatment in northern NJ.

BTW, what a great hubbie you are! I'm sure your DW will love it!

:) I would just like to make the suggestion that if they decde to go with SSR. (The spa there was kinda hard to find and not well marked. We just kept walking in circles looking for a sign, since we had never been to the resort before. ) We chose early appointments and just took a taxi there. It was absolutley beautiful. We did arrive in plenty of time to use the different whirlpools and sauna before our treatments. Great amenities and no one else there that early so we have the suana and whirlpools practically to ourselves for about an hour.

where are the prices for the Spa at AKV - very interested.

AKV offers spa treatments but it's not a day spa facility. At SSR, you have the huge entry, the nice waiting rooms, the huge locker/shower facilities/whirlpool, etc. That's why there is a price difference.

And the cost of any service entitles you to the use of all the spa facilities for the day :thumbsup2

We did not do the mother/daughter treatment but,As far as I understand it, the offer at AKL is massage and not manicure/pedicure services. I checked out SSR and GF spas and chose to send my daughter to GF. She was pampered from 10:30 am until almost 2pm just for a manicure, pedicure and facial! The spa was open for her to use afterwards but she chose not to.They did a great job and my daughter was VERY happy with the service and it was comprable to the prices I pay for her here at home (only here at home, the services are over in a matter of a couple of hours)
