Motel suggestions on I95

We are planning our trip to DW for the last week in April...driving down from NJ and staying overnight along the way. We were thinking of stopping somewhere in GA on the way down and NC on the way back up.

Any suggestions as to good motels to stay at, or the ones to stay clear of.

We liked the Hampton Inn in Richmond Hill GA.

If I don't know the area I try to stay only at motels listed in the current AAA tour books. They are free to members, you can buy them if you are not a member.

It is still desirable to inspect the room.
