I'm not sure where to post this question so forgive me if this is the wrong place. We are driving to WDW and plan to stop in Valdosta for a night on the way. Can anyone recommend a decent budget friendly motel in the area? Thanks in advance.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn, only because my husband had Hilton Honors points. If I remember correctly, it was a little over $100. My husband is super picky though
it's not bad, I've stayed at a few there and to be honest with the traffic, unless it is real early in the morn or late at night there isn't any of them I've stayed at that was completely easy,lol... but for the price and cleansiness this is my go to when on a budget..
I use to live there near exit 16. Traffic is very light compared to my traffic in Tampa. Exit 16 or 19 hotels are fine. Exit 19 has a Starbucks. Norman Drive is the first road off exit 16 has a 24-hour Walmart. Norman drive is busy on Friday night Football games at Lowndes high school. I lived in the apartments right accross from the football field so I always heard the band and football announcer. If you take Norman drive to the next major intersection there is a mall, chick-fil-a, cracker barrel, etc. Make a left at that major intersection and you will end up at exit 19. lt's a very small town. Two biggest employers are Moody AFB and Valdosta State University, then there is a decent size hospital in town.
We loved the Drury hotel just off the expressway. I got a great walk in rate using a coupon in the discount guides I picked up at the visitor center and we entered Georgia. It is currently ranked #1 on trip advisor.
