i use trip advisor alot, but i know my disers are always right! we wanted SO bad to stay at hojo. my mom has a doggy though. and so its either we stay in different hotels, or stay in a different one than hojo. i read good things and had a couple recommendations, from disers, about hotel 6. so i want to know more about it. does anyone have reviews from staying there themselves? OR pictures!??? lol thanks

Motel 6 always gets mixed reviews here. I think it depends on what its compared too. It is not a resort and doesn't charge like one either.

This Motel 6 has been around for decades and was recently renovated so rooms should be nice. Also, this used to be a Red Roof which is generally a bit nicer. I find this hotel to be far better than the typical Motel 6. It has an inside lobby, gift shop and elevators. Rooms are larger than typical Motel 6's with most rooms having a computer desk. Pool and Spa were always clean.

The only issue we had was that people going to a nightclub across the street would park at the hotel making parking difficult. They now issue hotel guests free parking passes to display in your car and threaten to tow anyone without one so this shouldn't be a problem.

There are many upscale hotels that do accept pets but can be pricey. Red Lion and Hilton both do but may charge extra for pets. Not sure if pets are allowed on hotel shuttles but we park in Mickey & Friends and take our dogs on the tram to DTD and walk them to the Disneyland Kennels.

I believe La Quinta also accepts pets in the rooms. We usually stay at the LaQuinta near Knotts Berry Farm and have seen dogs there many times.

Yes, pets are allowed on the Disney trams. I have seen people park then get on a tram with their dog then take their dog to Disney's kennels.

We have stayed here about three or four times within the past year!

Very clean and relatively close!

I would recommend getting a room with hardwood floors so you don't have to deal with carpet (I hate carpeted hotel floors cuz they're always so dirty.

They do have fridges and microwaves which is a plus!

I'll try to look for some pics of the rooms we have stayed in.

DH and I have stayed there a total of 5 times.....and we will never stay there again.

When we started to stay there it was still the Red roof Inn- prices, service were great and the rooms were clean. Shuttle was convenient and we had no issues.

Our 4th time there it had just been changed to a motel 6 and they were in the process of remodeling the rooms. Service was noticeably poorer- bathrooms not cleaned, towles not restocked etc. We hoped it was just a fluke bad stay and decided to give them another chance.

Our 5th and final visit was the worst........First they put us in a smoking room that they claimed was non-smoking....the smoke in the room and on the sheets were so bad I could smell it right when I walked in, and i have asthma so it was a definite no go.

They tried to argue with us and after about 2 hours of dealing with the manager he finally moved us to another room. The room we were moved into has hardwood floors- we'll get back to that one......the beds [2 queens] were on wheels and when you climbed into bed the beds would roll across the floor......no kidding! Dh got a kick out of sliding them as far as he could- but me not so much.

Because the room had hardwood floors you had to walk around with socks on, if you didn't you could feel dirt/crumbs etc on the floor from them not sweeping daily. Even with socks on the socks would be BLACK after one walk around the room.

Our room didn't have a mini-fridge so we called down to ask for one- they told us some rooms had them and some didn't- but that if we wanted one we could pay an extra $10 a day to have one.....um.....what??? Some rooms have them for free- yet you want to charge me for one? Not gonna happen....once again they brought one up after dealing with the manager...

All in all DH and I won't be staying there again....ever. It used to be a great hotel....now it's what you think of when you think of a grungy motel 6.

I would not recommend them. Last year there were several fights during the night & the police were called. If La Quinta takes pets, they are reasonable $79 or $89 for suite.

I stayed in motel 6 in June and hated it.

no fridge, no microwave
bathroom door wouldn't close(slightly awkward when staying in a room with a group of friends)
no dressers or anywhere to store clothing, we had to live out of our suitcase which wasnt awful, but I like to pack my dirty clothes as I use them so they can go straight in laundry when I return home, this meant lots of dirty cloths had to piled on the floor(which collected alot of dirt as mentioned above) since there was no where else to store them.

I would look over your options, I personally would never stay there again
