Most relaxing resort?

We haven't tried that many different places but the Polynesian gets my vote!

The grounds are so quiet & soothing. When the Tiki torches are lit in the evening it's like aaahhhh! Also just for the ease of getting around WDW, makes for a more relaxing vacation.

Even though we have not stayed there yet, we had the same impression walking around AKL after dining at Jiko. Very lush, quiet & pretty and animal watching to boot!

As Beach Club DVCer's I have to mention it. Laid back, calm & quiet with a great pool. A very short walk right into to Epcot's WS weighs big time on the relaxation factor for us! WS is our favorite place to be, when I walk in there I can feel the tension just oozing away!

POR and WL are both very relaxing. WL's lobby can be a bit loud from WC restaurant but other than that the entire resort is peaceful. POR, other than the food court, is incredible.

Poly has a great atmosphere which could promote relaxation, but it is so busy with people that it was hard to find a relaxing spot.

I fell asleep in a chair waiting for my Afternoon Tea reservation at the GF. :goodvibes

CSR is a very quiet, relaxing resort. Leisurely walks around the lake, sitting on the hammocks or by the fountains are lovely.

The Polynesian gets my vote!
Formula 1. MaiTai + lounge chair + Wishes + tiki torches = Relaxing
Formula 2. Two Mai Tai's + lounge chair = Hey Marty - wake up!:boat:

I've been posting a lot of questions on this board lately, and I'm sure more are to come. I just wanted to take a second to thank everyone who responds. It's so very helpful! The DIS really is such a wonderful place :goodvibes

Now, on to my current question...

Of all the resorts you have stayed in, which do you think has the most relaxing atmosphere? Why?

Thanks again!

We love the YC and feel it's the most relaxing resort.

At night you can sit out on the rocking chairs on the veranda and watch the people and boats go by. You can walk on the sandy beach or on the path along the hotels. At night it's so pretty with the view of the Broadwalk all lit up.

The lobby is really very nice to sit in and read a newspaper. And the pool is large enough to find a quiet spot away from everyone. You can get an ice cream cone at Beaches and Cream or a drink from Hurricane Hannah's.

It's my family's favorite resort.

POR and CBR are very relaxing. POP isnt so relaxing.......Sometimes the luxury resorts seem less relaxing to me, due to the amount of guests visiting to dine at the restaurants there, then having a look around.

I'd say GF or Poly. CR is my favority but probably one of the less relaxing hotels. Having stayed at the ASSP I'd say that is the lease relaxing

Coronado Springs Resort is beautiful and relaxing....
as long as you don't have to go anywhere else. Otherwise,
waiting for the golf-cart shuttle to get to the lobby for
breakfast, etc. can get mighty stressful and will take
the "relaxing" out right away. We were the furthest
from the lobby, and getting to the bus stop to get
to other parks was nearby and fine. BUT we often waited
for what seemed like half an hour for the shuttles to
show up to get to the main part of the resort.

Guess if you're an avid walker/jogger.....no problem,
but having a 9-year old asking, "Where's the bus,
where's the bus, WHERE'S THE BUSSSSSS?????" was NOT
relaxing at all.:sad2:

Definitely the Wilderness Lodge.

The lobby listening to the old western music, the pool, the dock, the balcony, the waterfalls, the lake, the whirlpool, the fireplace, the hidden lofts in above the lobby. Take me there!!! :rotfl:

WF:banana:

POR, WL, OKW. You gotta love a resort that has a boat ride to someplace fun. Would love to stay at Poly or GF to see how relaxing they are, all I have to go on is my frequent visits for dining or shopping.

POR gets my vote.

We like the peaceful and beautiful landscaping, and its ideal for leisurely walks to nowhere. It always seems quiet to us and with a number of pools to choose from, you can always find a nice quiet area to swim. It's a nice respite after spending your day in the parks with people everywhere you turn.

Serene, peaceful, and relaxing.

I couldn't have said that better myself::yes::

Poly, SSR, and OKW are all very relaxing to me. Maybe it has something to do with there being several buildings instead of one big one, people are spread out instead of being smushed together.

Fort Wilderness. We stayed in a cabin and it was definitely relaxing and peaceful. I loved coming back from the noise and bustle of the parks and being able to sit on the deck with my family and a cold drink.

WL

When we were there last December, I would open our balcony door to hear the beautiful classical/new age type Christmas music. Same thing sitting by the pool...that music is just so calming! I loved to just sit on the balcony and look out on the woods/Bay Lake, watch the bunnies and ducks below and listen to the music. Walking in from the bus stop is even relaxing with the music surrounding you...it's like you leave the stress of the crowds at the parks behind and you are transported to another world.:cloud9:
