I want to get a new Unofficial guide to WDW (sold our old one on ebay) - what is the most recent one? We go in July - will there be a more recent one between now and then?

Same question for the Passporter - I haven't had this one before (we had the one for the Disney Cruise Line though and it was great! - again - sold it on good old ebay!) Would you recommend one over the other? Both?

Any suggestions?
Thanks!

We prefer the passporter. It is amazing and a life saver. We carry it with us everywhere (at WDW). we especially like the design of being more of a "journal & memory book" than just another tour book. We have ALL of our receipts in there from our last trip. It is like an addition to our scrapbook :rotfl2:

As for the most recent the 2005 edition was just released in Feb.

have fun!!

We have both but I prefer the passporter. I think it is better laid out and I love the maps! There shouldn't be a new book out between now and July. From what I remember the next versions won't start coming out until November. We're going next May and I know I should wait but I don't know if I can! :goodvibes I'll probably get an updated passporter now so I can keep the magic alive - have a great time!

Now when you say Journal or Memory book - are you talking the Deluxe Passporter? Because I've never actually seen the deluxes - we've just used the regular Passporter books for the cruises. What's the benefit as I know they cost more...

UG lover here. The most recent version came out the early part of this year when MYW tickets came into effect this January (taking everybody by surprise). They also added info about Soarin' and other new stuff including some great new "touring companion" sheets in the back with restuarant info. The new book is called the UG to WDW 2005, however so does the older book that came out last fall. The way to tell the difference in the new book is to look for the "magic your way" ticket info on the front cover; also it is copyrighted 2005, vs. 2004 for the earlier edition. When I went to B&N in March, the only thing they had was the new one. I REALLY love the UG and truly recommend it.

We just use the regular one right now. We are going on our honeymoon in October, and was trying to convince DF to get deluxe version. We decided to stick with the original for now. As someone once said "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" :teeth:

The deluxe version is very nice though. It is three ring bound, so you can add anything you want to it, and take anything out without ripping the pages. This way you can rearrange the book to make it more effective for you.

I would like to get the deluxe so that I can add more pages to it and truly turn it into a "scrap/memory book". Right now, our last year's version is almost twice it's original size, just from all the receipts, restaurant menus, napkins, park maps, etc. I am slowly taking some of it and putting it into our other scrapbook from the trip, but there is so much to do!!!!

I think the deluxe version would be worth it, but the original is still a REALLY great value. We got comments on it every where we went.

I was just looking at the Unofficial Guide at Chapters on Tuesday. The 2005 one I saw didn't have the MYW ticket info yet so I spoke with the sales clerk, he checked when the new edition was out. The 2006 is coming out in August but had no record of the new 2005 one with the updates. HTH
