What old/extinct/changed aspect of disney do you miss most? This can include any meals that have been taken off menus, old rides that were closed down or changed significantly so aspects riders knew and held dear to their hearts, old promotional themes, old parades, old shows, maybe old shops, anything thats in Disney that is either gone completely or has changed is vaild for this.

I have two things I want to contirbute to this to start us off. My main thing is the Old Mexico ride (El Rio De Tiempo). My family and I have very fond memories of Disney and have been going at least once a year since I was born. One of the things we love most about disney is world showcase and Disney music. The old mexico ride had one of our families favorite songs that we would sing whenever we had the chance around the house. Granted we didn't know the words so we sang La La La instead of the words. When I heard the ride had been changed I was sad but I knew the ride was politically incorrect and dated so I knew while I was sad about it it was the right call. When I first went on the ride I held my breath hoping they only changed the parts that needed to be changed and left my beloved mexico song alone. I was so disappointed when I didn't hear that song. That ride use to be one i went on many times a trip but now I only go once a trip. When i do go on it I literally think of the old ride song.

My other thing I miss is the old epcot parade. I know that parade was super old and they couldn't keep having a millennium parade in 2013. I just wish they had continued the idea of having a parade that tied the countries of world showcase together.

My mom and I were just talking about this yesterday- about how it's gonna stink that the Tapestry of Dreams parade isn't running any more. For the both of us it was the most incredible thing we saw on our 2002 trip. We watched it four times! lol we made special trips back to Epcot just to see it!

My daughter misses Snow Whites Scary adventure. When we went during the old preschool month she Snow White rode the ride with her.

What I miss the most is the old EPCOT. Horizons in particular.

The thing we (myself and two sons) miss most is NOT having Splash Mountain as part of evening EMH. Kids not really interested in going without it especially since you can only get one FP+ for each attraction.

I miss the old Main Street at WDW. The Magic shop, the arcade and the Cinema. I also miss Flower alley.

I miss the Steel Drum band that used to be at Adventureland.

I'm in the minority, but I really miss Alien Encounter. I first went to WDW in 2002 and as a nerdy teen, that was my absolute favourite attraction in MK. I was at the age where I couldn't suspend disbelief on Peter Pan or Pirates (in the words of C.S. Lewis, I wasn't yet old enough again for fairy tales), but boy, could I ever do it on Alien Encounter. It was magical for me!

I miss Mr. Toads Wild Ride! My sister and I must have rode that a dozen times on our first visit as kids. (This was before Epcot was built!)

I also miss the stumbling on characters and getting impromptu photos or a surprise meeting with one! when we took the kids back in 1998 our first interaction was with several of the dwarfs right on Main Street. Over the course of the week we met many character by just stumbling across them. No fast passes or hour long waits to meet anyone!

Epcot: horizon

I loved that ride. It was my must do every visit. It was sinking into the earth so it had to go. I cried.

Magic kingdom: 20,000 leagues under the sea. When you actually went underwater. Snow White. Skyway transportation.

The list is too long to include here, but tops is Horizons, like anniescupboards said. That ride was one-of-a-kind in my book, although there were some close seconds, too, like World of Motion and the original Journey into Imagination (also long gone).

But walking into the Horizons pavillion and smelling the "loranges;" I don't think the park has yet to replicate that (although the closest I think they managed was the brief scent of oranges on Soarin').

Oh, yeah, remember this?

"Veggie, fruit-fruit,

Veggie-Veggie, fruit-fruit!" :)

Ooops, I almost forgot...

Remember those three older musicians who used to walk from table to table in the Crystal Palace, taking requests? These guys were great! They could (and would) play just about anything you asked for! I remember my first encounter with them; it was just me and my wife, we were young newlyweds at the time, and when they arrived at our table, they asked what was our request. My poor wife came up goose-egg, and the only thing I could think to blurt out was, you guessed it... When you Wish Upon a Star. :rolleyes1

They stood there for a brief second and looked at me, and then looked at each other (with a slight roll of their eyes), and proceeded to play it beautifully. I got the message, though, and resolved to offer them a better request at our next Crystal Palace dinner. They never disappointed!

Today, dining at the Palace just isn't what it used to be. Although it's still a wonderful experience, and, as much as I love the characters, you can only get so much from Pooh and Piglet when they come to your table. When Eeyore, Tigger, and Pooh pick up a violin, bass, and banjo, and start playing dixieland tunes while your eating your chicken and pasta, then I'll say they've found a suitable replacement!:thumbsup2
