Most Likely Bad Resort Stay?

I have been reading some reports of sub par stays. If any of you had had a bad stay, which resort (s) was it at?

I never had a bad stay in the context of the question at OKW as far as the rooms are concerned. I have stayed for 17 vacations at OKW and the rooms were in excellent condition. I went off with management on some things I felt needed some changing like the bus service-45 minute waits, at the time they had schedules that really meant nothing, what appeared to be a cut back in housekeeping, care of the grounds, the member only check in, things like that. Never had a bad stay-hardly ever use the bus, but never had a bad stay. Remember there are a lot more OKW members than any others when you take a survey like this.

I voted for "never had a bad stay", but I encourage all others to please vote for BCV. If you can't vote for BCV, then please vote for VWL. Your help with this matter will be greatly appreciated.

I voted never; because, I have never had a "bad" stay, but we have gotten a room at OKW this last year that was VERY sub par. Even my husband mentioned the condition, and he never says anything about anything.

All of our other rooms at OKW and the other DVCs have been very good to excellent. This one room was just the exception and thankfully not the rule. It did not ruin our stay/trip at all. Nor did it take away from our opinion of OKW. We took it as a fluke. It is still tied for first w/BWV for our favorite resort at WDW. We were just REALLY shocked at the condition of the room.

They were renovating OKW last Oct while we were there, so I hope they made it to that room soon after our departure.

I voted VWL for the following reasons:

1) CM was less than helpful at check-in

2) Got to our room and found there was someone in it.

3) Called front desk and told them about #2 - was told we had to go back and check in. Didn't seem too concerned that there was someone in the room.

4) CM was again less than helpful.

5) As I went out to sit on the patio a snake came by

6) Didn't care for the dark tones.

We tried VWL but I don't think we'll ever stay there again.

No bad stays here. A few minor problems now and then but nothing that I would consider serious at all.

Never a bad stay. Sometimes things that have been less than perfect but no matter what, it beats being at work.

I had mild disappointment (for lack of a better sentiment) at BWV, but definitely not something I'd consider a bad stay/experience overall. "Overall" we had an enjoyable stay there---as we have with every DVC stay.
I voted "never had a bad stay". I don't feel any DVC resort is perfect, but there would have to be something significant for me to vote it as a bad stay & I have read of such experiences by Members here on the board to constitute an experience as "bad".

I voted for never had a bad stay, too. I will say that in our last stay at Vero, our inn room definitely needed some long over due attention. Everything seemed worn out. Other than little things like that, we've never had a problem that couldn't be solved with a phone call.

Could someone fix the addition for the poll - there are more votes for never had a bad stay than total votes. We have never had a bad DVC stay either - closest thing was when the request to be near a pool at OKW was met - only there was no water in the pool - just used the main pool instead.

You mean you expect water in a pool?? You must put that on your request the next time. Your complaint is the funniest thing I have read on the site in awhile.

Just remember that requests are not guarantees.

We have stayed a few times at OKW, once at VWL and once at VB. Haven't had a bad stay yet. We will be staying at BCV soon and hopefully that won't be a problem.

Anyway, I have had less than perfect stays, but never a bad stay.

If you look at their tag line.........I think that HookdonWDW meant that would mean easier access, fewer crowds etc....for them!

A lot of the "bad stays" I read about are the visitors attitude. (For example, I requested a view and did not get it, therefore the rest of my stay was horrid and of course my personal fav. "I am able bodied and should NEVER have to stay in an accessible room" )

There are true bad experiences and then there are experiences you make worse. I don't make specific requests (outside of smoking vs. non-smoking) that way I am not disappointed and find that seems to help.

I do feel sorry sometimes for the CMs. I was checking into OKW once and a member was giving the CM HE** because the room they requested was NOT avaialbe. He even went so far as to suggest the CM call the current occupant and tell them to move since the request had been made 11 months in advance!

If you see me post here about a bad stay, rest assure it won't be because I didn't get the room I wanted. It has to be serious. Several times we have stayed when something minor was wrong. All it took was a call to house keeping or maintenance and it was quickly fixed.

One time the lock on the patio door had to be replaced. The maintenance man offered to have us moved to another room. When asked how long it would take to fix, he said an hour or so. I said we'll disappear and be back then. He was happy. The Inn was near capacity.

We had only one bad visit with foul ups ........ I mean MAJOR foul ups. And it got reported. BEFORE we left!! Managers were contacted at Beach club and member services..... And we got compensated for it.

I see BCV has the most votes in the complaint catagory.

LOL!! The poll even has a problem. The total is wrong.
