Most inxpensive balcony staterooms

Our kids just went underneath :flower:
Hi kuhltiffany, i read on older post you booked at fantasy 5152 extended verandah, Im just hoping to get a feedback from you or if you have any picture to share. I have a deck 10 midship right now but i was thinking of getting that extended balcony if no noise problem (engine, traffic etc) and how about for a person with sea sick(but manageable - my son)? Thank you so much

We had no noise on our extended verandah forward (5026) other than WD theatre noise relatively early in the evening and teenagers one night walking down the hallway yelling and cursing as they headed to Vibe's indoor entrance. It was significantly quieter than our Deck 10 room the cruise prior.

Hi there! Our very first cruise was a family one, we were in 5150, my parents in 5152 and my brother's family in 5154. We loved the balconies, tons of space and lots of furniture to sit on. Good location to the elevators and kids club. Nice to see down to the water with nothing in the way. Regular rectangle tub (not the round one). I never felt any engine noise and none of us (11 people in age from 2 to 65) were ever seasick.

But…some people find the extended balconies don't offer much privacy, as people can lean over and see you. There definitely was extra foot traffic gong to and from the kids club, kids running in the halls. We were on the Dream, on the Fantasy I would NOT get 5150, as Pepe's door is attached and has people visiting/knocking it at all hours.

If I was booking on those ships again, I would do the opposite side of the ship and get 5650...

I was pleasantly surprised to find that out as well since we booked a last minute cruise and our TA found a 7a for us. We were on deck 9 and the obstruction was pretty minimal. Only thing we didn't like was the aft location.

What did you not like about aft?

Our main complaint was that it seemed far from everything. It took us at least 15 minutes to get from the WD theater and back when we forgot something in the stateroom. Those hallways seemed to go on forever. The room was very nice and I did not notice any vibrations. That was our first trip on the dream class. We picked staterooms that were more midship on subsequent trips.

Thank you so much. That was a big help :)

I think the undersized verandah rooms (some cat 7A) might be a bargain that could be iffy in value, in my opinion (this photo is 5188)

I know how that is. We had a cabin that was aft. It wasn't at the very back of the boat, but the last one before the back. It was a bit far. I enjoyed the exercise though; it allowed me to justify more food:rotfl2: I had read some people complained that their balconies for the back cabins would be covered in soot. We didn't have that problem though. We did have one of the verandahs with a white wall. I guess I didn't fully understand what it meant when we booked. It wasn't the end of the world. However, we really like to spend time on the balcony and would prefer the open ones with a fuller view of the sea. One advantage to our cabin toward the back was that one side, the back side, felt very private. The cabin next to ours had a huge balcony, but they never used the part next to ours.
