I just had to post this after reading the thread about parade etiquette...

We were at the late showing of Spectro last Wednesday night right at the hub, where the parade crosses the bridge into Liberty Square. Directly across from us was a woman, probably 70 years old... in a STROLLER. Happily eating an ice cream cone, I might add. The apparent original occupant of the stroller (age 3 or 4 I'd guess) was seated on the concrete next to grandma, then climbed in WITH her (although I don't think it was a double!) and the pair of them finished off the ice cream. :mickeybar

Bizarre, but genius. If I was 70 I wouldn't want to plop myself down on the sidewalk either!

LOL, that is so cute! I know my granny, before she passed away, was only 4'11" and weighed less than 80 pounds, smaller than some of the kids I saw in strollers on our last trip.

LOL They do come in handy sometimes... well I hadn't ever thought to sit in one because previous trips we always brought OUR stroller for our youngest! But this last trip my youngest doesn't have a stroller anymore and I thought she wouldn't need one... one day without one and I ended up renting one for the rest of the days at the parks. LOL Anyway, I got a double so my middle child (son) could sit at times or she'd have more room to spread out/etc. and I did sit in it once... on the end where the feet go while the kids were doing activities at a table at one of the parks. They had itsy bitsy kids chairs (so it's not like I could sit in one with her on my lap or something) and my youngest was having such a good time (she loves to color) that they were there for awhile... so I parked my butt in the stroller on the feet part and it was ---well, not all that uncomfortable as I thought it would be. LOL

I am rather small... 5'2. I wouldn't recommend it for everyone. LOL

Been there done that-

I went with a family who has a daughter with special needs a few weeks ago, she cant stand unassissted but her Dad was holding her because she was really tired of sitting (it was really hot). I sat in her special needs stroller for Illuminations. It probably looked quite silly (she is 10 and the stroller is a child sized) but it sure was more comfortable than the ground :teeth:

:rotfl:

Last year, we were at World Showcase and we had a double stroller at the time. DH was walking really fast as he normally does and since he's 6' 3", I (5' 2") have to literally jog to keep up with him. I finally said, STOP, I'm getting on the stroller if you're going that fast - as a joke of course. Well, he actually stopped and said well, go on it then.

So.... I got on the stroller, then DS7 sat next to me, and DS4 sat on my lap and DH pushed us from Germany to Japan! Yeah... I love watching people's face stare at us in amazement! :rotfl2:

About 20 years ago, my parents, brother and I were on a bus trip to NYC. A couple days before we left, my mother hurt "something" (forgive the bad memory but it was a while ago) and was not going to be able to go unless with a wheelchair. The local drugstore rented us a travel wheelchair that really was an umbrella stroller for an adult. Yes really -- the metal frame and cloth sling seat for an adult! We rolled her up-and-downtown in that thing ... and my, did we get looks!! But it worked really well.

hahaha that's too funny! she could have just gotten a wheel chair!!!

i was at the Spectro Magic parade 2 years ago at MK and there was a woman with her son in a stroller behind me(probably about 2 years old) and she was eating one of those turkey legs......now mind you she's standing directly behind him....and the turkey leg just kept falling apart and falling into the stroller on him, and she was oblivious as to this happening. i just ignored it and watched the parade lol.
