Hi all, looking for the most inexpensive character lunch or dinner. I have older kids, but we haven't done a character meal in several years and just thought it would be alot of fun. The gang is Me(41), DG(64), DN (15), DD (14) and DS (12). My mother doesn't eat anything at all, nor do I. The kids are average eaters. I really hate to spend over $125 for a character meal if I don't have to......but this is what it looks like a have to do. Maybe the ice cream social??? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks!:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I would do the Ice Cream social - it is lots of fun with characters and yummy ice cream but won't break the bank.:earsgirl:

The ice cream social is around $7 each. It is at Garden Grill. There are a few seatings around 3ish in the afternoon. You should call to make PS. We thought the ice cream was delicious! I recommend not ordering drinks, though. It really added to the price and no one even drank theirs. Cokes do not go well with ice cream sundaes. Just stick with the water. I think it was Chip/Dale/Mickey/Pluto.

Thanks for your replies.....looks like we are heading to the ice cream social! But....can anyone tell me the prices of The character dinner at LTT.....just in case DG is feeling generous?:p

Maggie....great pictures!!!

Liberty Tree Tavern Character dinner is Adult $21.99 and kids (3-11) $9.99. We ate here before MVMCP. We really enjoyed the food! It is like Thanksgiving dinner (my favorite!) The characters were dressed up in their Christmas outfits too. But I would have liked to have seen their revolutionary outfits too.

Check out http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menu_ltt.htm for the menu and prices.

Because of the ages of your kids, you will pay adult prices for the char buffets. You will definitely be better off with the ice cream social given that you and your mom won't really eat. I think the bkft buffets are better values for our family in that the kids are usually hungrier an hour or two after awakening than in the early evening. Anyway, here is the list of buffets which makes comparing prices easy:

It may only be Chip and Dale, but it's a sing a long, marshmallow roast (have to pay for s'more kits) and Disney movie -

and it's FREE!

See: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/faq_fw.htm

For older kids, at an additional cost, there are two arcades, watercraft for rent, horseback riding, basketball courts, bicycle riding, and wagon rides - some during Wishes.

Here's the scoop from AllEarsNet.com:
The campfire program is open to all WDW resort guests. It generally begins around 7:00 p.m. during the fall/winter season and 8 p.m. after the time changes in April through the summer. It is held near the Meadow Trading Post in the campfire area. The program begins with a sing-along led by a Disney CM and a marshmallow roast around two campfire rings. You may bring your own marshmallows or buy them at the Chuckwagon (roasting sticks and marshmallows are $2). You may also buy pizza, hot dogs, candy, nachos, juice, popcorn, sodas, coffee, beer and other refreshments at the Chuckwagon. While this is going on, Chip and Dale make an appearance to visit with guests and sign autographs. The sing-along lasts about 40 minutes. Next, one or two Disney animated features, depending upon the season, are shown on a large outdoor screen. Seating is available in bleachers or on benches. There is also plenty of room to lay out a quilt or blanket. The movie schedule is posted at all comfort stations. In the event of rain, the sing-along is still held on the porch of the Meadow Trading Post.

Also, the Trails End Buffet is supposed to be one of the best values in WDW. We are planning dinner and the marshmallow roast.
