I know a few have discussed this program in the past, but did anyone catch the end of the Blackpool live event last night, where the show lost all credibility and descended into a farce ?
For those interested and who may have missed it, it was right at the end....yevette and derek etc were already on their way back to the studio, but they left a couple of the crew going down a tunnel under the winter gardens. there were 4 of them in total.
The carried on down the tunnel, pretending to be scared by any noise they heard, when they heard a noise up ahead....on investigation they discovered a lightbulb had mysteriously removed itself from a socket and landed on the floor...it was warm we were told (which, given they were in darkness was I presume supposed to mean something)....anyhow, I dont think they were due to proceed any further, and a handover to the studio was imminent....the camera man was filming the bloke looking at the bulb, and was essentialy facing backwards, ie looking at the way they had just walked, when he decided to turn round...this was clearly not planned, as they turned round to see another guy there who I had never seen before, and was not part of the crew, who are all familiar faces. He sort of froze when he realised what had happened, then after about 3 seconds, sort of dived off to the right out of camera shot.....the camera man, and the bloke talking sort of paused for about 5 seconds not quite knowing what to do, then they made some excuse about the camera not focusing properly due to the dark, and started to move forward, not mentioning or acknowleding this bloke whatsoever.
This guy had clearly been sent ahead to rmove a lightbulb, and make general random bangs etc, and should not have been captured whatsoever.
It was hilarious, not only how it happened, but also how they tried to pretend nothing had happened.
Superb entertainment.
Oh and also, earlier on, Derek got "possesed", and said the name of who he was, wrong....twice....you would think the spirit of who was talking through Derek would remember his own name wouldnt he.
