most embarrasing thing that happened to you

2. Our first overnight trip to DL with our dd. We went on the Mark Twain. While on the top deck dd said she had to go potty. Needless to say we didn't make it to the bathroom and she left a puddle on the top deck. I was so embarrassed telling the CM on duty. :scared:

Are there no potties on Mark Twain?

This thread is hilarious! I don't have any to share...yet.

Yay, soo offf topic but i realize I just got tagged haha

Now that I am 29, I should be past the days of having girlish embarrassing moments, right?

A woman who is nearly thirty should be the picture of decorum, demonstrating dignity and elegance wherever she goes, right?

....wrong.

At Disneyland my ladylike behaviour goes out the window as I forget about emulating my idol Mary Poppins and begin to channel my inner Goofy.

We were lining up at a place on Mainstreet to buy some hotdogs when I turned around and who should I see but MARY POPPINS!!! . I left DH in line, grabbed DD and rushed over with our autograph book in hand, all the while rejoicing at our luck that there was no line:cool1: . As MP said goodbye to the little girl that she had been talking to, I thrust my little one forward because for some reason she was hesitating. DD had seen what I hadn't - the line of people. After facing Mary Poppins' polite but humiliating rejection I slowly turned to see the line of angry faces glaring at me:headache: .
Naturally I was mortified. I apologized profusely all the while wanting the ground to swallow me up whole.

do you mean u...... thats wrong..

why would u do that on a DL ride... think of the kids..also you could have hurt yourself...

You must be a guy. That is NOT how you become a woman! :rotfl2:

Anyway, I'm not sure that would be possible, would it? Wait, I don't want to know. :lmao:

Actually, I hate to say it, but I have heard of people doing, er, 'things they should not be doing' on rides since way back when. I had never known if it was made up or not, but one of my male friends told me back in the '80s that he had 'quite a good time' on the old Skyway buckets of death in Fantasyland. And someone else told me that they had some fun on the People Mover and on Tom Sawyer's Island. Those rides were long and slow, so I guess if you are adventurous... I mean, I wouldn't attempt it because I would be too afraid of getting caught and I am not at Disneyland to do THAT, but I have certainly seen some couples who looked like they were getting pretty heated and I guess all I can say to them is, make sure you keep it away from the kids but, otherwise, glad you are so into each other!!! :thumbsup2 I don't really care if couples want to grope at each other in DLR. It does not personally bother me, but I respect the fact that there are many, many kids around and watchful CM's, so anyone who does it is taking a big risk of getting in trouble with Mouse Security! Plus, there is the health & hygiene issue to worry about...

If they get caught what happens? Some probably don't care if they are caught or not. But can you imagne if you were a teen, get caught and say banned from DLR for awhile and you had to explain that one to your parents?:scared1:

I have never had anything embarrassing happen to me. I am perfectly co-ordinated, my husband is perfect and DD does just as she is told. I just don't understand what the problem is with the rest of you:rolleyes1

That is a good question. I don't know how severely one gets reprimanded if they are caught having a little too much fun! I would imagine people probably do it just for the thrill of maybe getting caught! But now that there is no Skyway or People Mover, the options are getting limited! Amorous couples might just have to take their affection to the hotels! Yes, you are right - how embarrassing would it be for anyone - kids or adults - to say they were kicked out of DLR for....THAT? I have not read the book "Mouse Tales" in a long time, and I cannot recall if they address this subject in that book or in another book, but I know that it has been written about - couples trying to fool around in DL - somewhere. I think my friends got away with it, but I tend to think that security cameras are probably in every inch of the park now, and they are much more alert to things going on since September 11th, so I wonder what the 'punishment' is if they catch someone getting a little too touchy feely?

This happened to my DS who is 12 (going on 20). He sometimes wears his jeans too low so you can see his "stylish" boxers...drives me crazy!!! We were at DL in August and he had on a pair of jean shorts and no belt. I kept telling him to pull his pants up. We were crossing through the center of the circle in front of the castle and you guessed it - his pants fell to his ankles. There was a horse drawn trolley going through and a bunch of ladies were pointing and laughing. It was quite funny. We all had a good laugh. And, he bought a new belt at one of the stores in DD on our walk home!

Anytime we talk about our favorite part of the trip, it's always when Matt mooned everyone on Mainstreet!!

At least everybody got a good look at his stylish boxers, like he wanted! Be careful what you wish for...;) :goodvibes

Gee, what was up with that lady who wouldn't stop scolding and berating you? It was an accident, clearly. It wasn't like you set out to step on her and dunk your food and drinks into the street! You apologized to her, and as long as it was sincere, she should have cut you a little slack. Obviously, in that situation, you were very embarrassed, apologetic and had just wasted money on the food and drink. Unless you got the food on her or broke her foot or something, she should have calmed down because you were obviously humiliated. That was really nice of the CM's to bring you an all new order of fries, onion rings and a drink. I am constantly impressed by the things I hear of them doing for people and that was great of them, and it probably made that b**** feel like an idiot!!!

Life is what it is I guess. I've read all the embarrassing moments here and when push comes to shove when it's personal it's "devastating" at the time. I clearly remember what the lady looks like...I will never forget her facial features because they were burned into the back of my head for the duration of the parade along with her finger and feet!

What's really sad...if that was her first time seeing it...she ruined it for herself more than I did.

Thanks for understanding...BTW a sister of a friend of mine was standing in line behind me for the Rocket Rods (that tells you how long ago) and there was a flight of stairs to go up which took awhile...behind her were some really cute guys (I'm married and probably 15 years or so older than them...but still cute to me). When I turned to speak to the girls...she scratched (you know where) and I thought I was going to die! Some people have no couth!!!

About the other thing, how could one get "in the mood" at DL? As far as I am concerned, at DL, a smooch and holding hands in front of the castle is quite plenty.
And the other other thing. Renderman:rotfl2: you are such a guy!! :rotfl: I am sure it was an innocent mistake of observation but that made me laugh!
Its just not on your radar. Yes, even mothernature likes the rides at DL:rotfl:

Well, you can tell a lot about someone in a couple of minutes. That lady probably was not the type to enjoy herself in DLR, and most likely complained wherever she went and drove everyone else nuts. I have enough of a sarcastic, big mouth on me where that I know if I had been standing by while the lady continued to berate you and poke you, I would have said, "All right! For the love of God, give it a rest! It was an ACCIDENT! Lighten up!" I wouldn't have been able to stop myself, not knowing either one of you, just because she would seem to me like a shrew who deserved it!!

And the same goes for if I had been in line when someone was being maligned or insulted by other people in line. I wouldn't have been able to keep my big trap shut on that one either!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I have a hunch that when people decide to 'get cozy' on the rides, it is not so much that they are in the mood or even trying to get themselves in the mood as much as it is just to see if they can get away with it. Knowing the friends of mine who CLAIMED they accomplished this back in the '80s, they were the types who would have done it "just for a goof." The thrill of it. I still don't know if I believe them that they actually did that, but back at that time there were more rides that were long and slow, so there would have been more opportunities. Now, not so much. Plus, I just think that the CM's have to be keeping a watchful eye on everything that happens in our post-9/11 world and must be able to see the shenanigans people are up to all over. Imagine the 'fun' the lucky CM has who has to go and 'interrupt' the frisky duos. Oh, joy!
