Most "Disney-Magical" resort(not a value, though...)

:wizard: Having spent time at many of the deluxe (conceirge) and value resorts (haven't done the moderates... don't know why?) The one that we found to have the most magic for us was the AKL. We were upgraded to a Savanna room last Sept. and the highlight of our trip was watching our 1 year old daughter run in and out looking at the giraffes and other animals just outisde of our window. She was so excited.
Our 3 year old son was equally amused with the pool and for some reason the restaurants.
When he was turning 1 we stayed at the Yacht club conceierge and the fuss that the staff made over his first birthday was very magical also. We did love stormalong bay. To us a relaxed resort balances the active magic of the parks.
This Sept. we're trying Boardwalk Conceirge.
We also spent a week and several other single nights at several of the all stars- the kids we took (nieces) loved them. We preferred the deluxe.princess:

Its funny how some people have been saying that certain places just do not feel like Disney. We went to Coronado Springs and it felt totally foreign from that Disney feel. We had gone to an All Star for our first trip and to POR for our second. Both resorts felt like you were in the heart of Disney...it was really fun. I guess its what your definition is.:wizard:

I agree totally!!!

CR has hands-down the most luxurious rooms. It is like a boutique hotel. But from the outside, I completely agree with people who say it looks like a mound of concrete. That said, being INSIDE the hotel is a lot better with feel given by the monorail, ect. And being in your room - well, I don't think there is ANYONE who would be inside a CR room, particularly those overlooking MK, and not agree it was the most fantastic ROOM at WDW.

GF has the most amazing lobby, common area and grounds. But the rooms are not great for what you pay. (Thank goodness I saw a friend's and didn't pay the rate myself!) On the whole though, leaving $ aside, and everything considered, GF is the nicest (in my opinion).:)

IMHO, the CR currently has the nicest rooms on property. They are less tacky and more luxurious than the Poly's and they are nicer than the unrefurbed GF rooms. Also, if you have one in the tower MK view side, they have the best views on property too.

We loved the Grand Floridian at Christmastime! It was so Christmasy to us! Last summer, we stayed at the Boardwalk - and our room overlooked the Eiffel Tower at Epcot!!! We could see the fireworks too!! My DD LOVED the "clown" pool at Boardwalk! POFQ is also very peaceful!

We'll be staying at Pop Century for two weeks next week! And we like the atmosphere there too! All Star Movies is also very "Disney"!!!

If it is just based on pure theming I would say AKL, WL or BWI. All 3 are over the top with the themes. I have not personally stayed at the other Deluxes but I have found those 3 to be above and beyond the mods we have stayed in. If I had to pick one AKL would be my pick. Waking up to a giraffe out front is pretty hard to top.

To us, it is WL all the time! Maybe GF at Christmas, but we can't always afford it. POR is great, but it is "non-Disney, Disney to us ;)
