We want to treat friends of ours to a romantic dinner for 2 on property before they embark on their honeymoon but don't have a "Victoria and Albert's" budget. Any suggestions?

I would suggest Jiko for a romantic spot to eat that is not that exspensive for two people to have dinner also Le Cellier as well as Bistro de Paris (believe thats what it is)are also nice romantic places

I vote for Portabello Yacht Club in DTD. Nice ambiance, warm colors, soft lighting, not too noisy, excellent food, awesome Sangria (Vino con fruita), and you don't have to pay for park admission. Not inexpensive by any means, but not Victoria & Alberts either.

What is your budget? For a really cheap dinner, I like the atmosphere at The Cantina de San Angel after dark. Flame Tree BBQ also has some nice, out of the way spots to eat at. The Morocco pavilion has some really romantic spots- you could get something at Tangierine Cafe, and stroll through the alleyways of Morocco afterward.

If you can spend more $$, like a regular TS restaurant, I'd pick either Le Chefs de France or Coral Reef in Epcot.

I'd say try out the California Grill (which can be pricy, but not as much as V&A), or Le Cellier, in the Canadian pavilion.

I would vote for Citrico's at the GF ... it is very romantic and the food and service are excellent.

I agree with Bistro de Paris at EPCOT. We really love it there ... reminds us of some of our wonderful and romantic meals in France.

Yachtsman Steakhouse would also get my vote ... make sure to ask for a very quiet table and explain the circumstances ... we had an incredible meal there in January on our only child-free date nite!

Sit outside on the patio at Alfredo's at Epcot. It is super romantic and depending on what you order, doesn't have to be that expensive! The atmosphere of sitting outside on a starry night with a glass of chianti is perfect...

I'd vote for the San Angel Inn. It's always a beautiful twilight inside no matter what the weather is outside. You've got the river ride going by, and great food.

:teeth: Thanks! These are great suggestions. I always travel to WDW with kids so I'm not up on the "romantic" spots in the World.

Artist Point is one of our favorites and very quiet. Tell them to ask for a window seat. They usually will seat two kind of off by themselves. At least that's what they've done with us.

For something even more reasonable, our favorite is the Grand Floridian Cafe. The atmosphere is beautiful, the service excellent, and the food delicious. The chocolate fondue for two is mouthwatering. If you want to get really special, you could order a Cinderella Slipper for her and a Dalmation Dogbones dessert for him with thier names and congradulations on the plate. You have to order this in advance from the Grand Floridian Bakery. I did this for my family and it was so neat. I would definitely call the "restaurant" that day though ahead and make sure they have it correctly noted on their reservation to be sure they get them.

I would second Palios at the Swan, strolling violin players and you wouldnt have to pay for park admission. Maybe followed up by some time on the Boardwalk at Atlantic Dance or Jellyrolls etc. Possibly taking in Illuminations fireworks etc.

I have never gone without kids, but I have eaten in Portabellos in DTD, LeCellier, Yachtsmen steakhouse and they are all very nice and I think
Mexico could also be very romantic on a budget. I would definately suggest
they tell someone it is the beginning of their honeymoon and I think anyplace they pick will make sure it is a meal to remember...this is disney after all.
They do go out of the way for special ocassions.

Go Army? Who is holding the Commander in Chief Trophy? GO NAVY!

I nice dinner for a honeymoon couple would be Calif. Grill or one of the nicer rest in Epcot; if you know whether they like a certain nationality maybe that might be the ticket.

I suggest Brown Derby at MGM. The decoration and lighting is very nice and suitable for a romantic dinner. It is deservedly designated as a "signature" restaurant, but the entree prices are really quite reasonable, probably the lowest of any of the signature restaurants. Our family of four paid a lot more to eat at Artist Point than at Brown Derby.

DH and I always enjoy the Hollywood Brown Derby. It can get pricey but nowhere along the lines of V&A.

We ate here the first night of our Honeymoon before seeing La Nouba. The food was excellent, service was incredible and the price was good for our one really nice meal. It's also great to get to walk around the downtown area and relax afterwards.

its there honeymoon, 2 burgers, 2 fries, and 2 cokes @ McD's...in the middle of the ball pit, with 40 screaming kids would be romantic
