Most "bang for buck" buffet?

Both my husband and son like grilled meat, and my son loves shrimp. (But what's for dessert?) Plus, 'Ohana sounds like fun; my son would get a kick out of the coconut-rolling race.

We'll be staying at the All-Star Music Resort. What's the easiest method of getting to 'Ohana?

If your son loves shrimp, he'll be happy here. For dessert, as mentioned by someone above, they bring out a whole pineapple with warm caramel dipping sauce. Very yummy and different. I LOVE desserts and I can usually find room for it, but after eating here all I could manage was a few bites of the pineapple. If you do want something in addition to the pineapple, they have other things you can order at an extra cost.

To get to the Poly from your resort, take a bus to the TTC or MK and then hop the appropriate monorail to the Poly. If you are at one of the parks, just hop on the Poly bus instead of the AS.

The chicken strips at WDW are definitely good. Don't worry about your son being limited to the child's buffet. It's only there for the picky eaters. Sometimes, my son gets prime rib or whatever is being carved while I get a chicken strip! :)

if money is really tight the trails end is a very good basic buffet. I was told the food is the same as they serve at hoop de doo ( which i'd say has been about the same when we've gone) and other stuff also. plus lots to do in the area, hayride, movies campfire( seasonal I think) petting zoo nature trail, hammocks by the lake, had entertainment some nights...don't know if that is still so, and a very different pace than the parks so a good change. but no characters although a ten year old boy may not be that in to that. we always go there at least for breakfast ( really great deal, about the same price as most entrees other places)
