We're hoping that people might share which fitness trackers they use that have proven to be accurate and last for more than a short while. My DD's Fitbit Ulta HR now tracks less than half of her steps, even after follwoing all advice on restarting, adjusting the stride, etc. We are finding out that this is a very common problem! DD is looking for a device that tracks movement, heartrate, and sleep. Charge length, durability, and easy of sincing to bluetooth is also a consideration.

Thanks in advance for sharing an suggestions. DD is serious about fitness and doesn't want to waste more money on an ineffective product.

I can't offer any rec's since I've had the same tracker for over 2 years and my only issue is that it doesn't sync with my phone as often as it should. And it's not always fixed by restarting the phone. I haven't noticed if since the new app update if it's made a difference or not. It's also become more of a habit of wearing it since it's always on. I add my workouts to the app so I don't pay much attention to the rest except for sleep if I'm having a bad few nights.

You might also try looking on the run disney board on here if you haven't already. While the focus is more on gps tracking watches I would imagine there's some like me that have both and only wear the watch when running outside.

My fitbit Blaze is super accurate. I walk a lot and I regularly check my step count while walking and count 200-300 steps and check again and it is always dead on.

How old is it? I have the same tracker as the OP, and although it was accurate when I got it, it started messing up when it was close to a year old (even after contacting support numerous times).

Mine will be two years old in September.

Apple Watch. I've had mine almost two years. No issues with it tracking my runs or in general my steps. DD swims with hers 5 days a week. At one point it was messing up her yards but I think that's resolved.

I have a Garmin watch. I use it for running and cycling and not for walking so I can't say how well it does for that but it is very accurate for running and cycling.

Thanks so much for the help! DD's device was accurate to start, but it recently is way off. She is tracking her steps, but she also runs and works out.

I have a Garmin multisport watch which tracks running, cycling, swimming, and other sports you want to enter. This watch is probably not necessary but the other Garmin models may be what she wants. Customer service has been excellent.

What type of phone does she have? Different options work better with different operating systems. For example, you don't want an Apple Watch if you have an Android phone.

I have an apple watch and husband has a fitbit versa. We can go on walks with the kids, and walk exactly the same distance and his will always have a considerable amount more than mine. Idk which is accurate. I get our steps would be different, but distance should be about the same and they are not.

I have an Apple watch and it is very accurate. It's also the version with cellular so two bonus items are the my wife / kids can call me if I'm gone for a run or cycle ride too long and that I can use my airpods to stream music while I exercise.

Former FitBit addict here. I have had five and never had a single problem with any of them. Over the years I’ve come to the conclusion I’m one of the lucky ones.

I was on the fence about an Apple Watch when my family made the decision for me and gave me one for Christmas. Within a day I had dumped the Fitbits like cheap women. 😂 So much more versatile and attractive. I love that I don’t have to hunt down my phone to return a text or phone call. Worth it for that alone. I feel it makes me work harder than the FitBit did. As mentioned above I can go for a walk or to the gym with my music on board and a pair of Bluetooth earbuds (does not have to be AirPods.) I can change the look anytime I want. Apple Pay. A timer on my wrist. There’s several great apps for any workout you can imagine. Heart Rate. Fall Detection (AW4.) I could go on and on about how much I love it. The only downside for people who are used to FitBit is battery life. Needs to be charged daily. I personally don’t find that a problem. I throw it on the charger while I’m in the shower or have an hour of down time.

My Apple watch charges incredibly fast. Way faster than my phone!

Yeah, it doesn’t take long.

I’ve found my biggest problem with the Apple Watch is my addiction to bands and swapping them out. Ironically my “wardrobe” is 80% neutral but I love going with a bright color on a whim.

I only have two bands...the white that came with it and a heather gray knock off that is professional looking. :) Maybe if I had more choices I'd wear it more. LOL
