Hi, we have always gone to WDW in Oct, Nov or Dec. This is our first trip in aug. Just wondering about mosquitos? Here in the Chicago land area you don't want to be outside after dusk. i hope it is not like that at WDW. Do i need to bring bug spray? Just getting in all my last minute questions before we leave! 12 more days!!!

I have never had a problem with mosquitos at WDW. I don't even bring bug spray, but you might want to bring it just incase

I would bring it there are those little bugs that are very always in the way, my grandma called them love bugs, they don't bit but they are all over we found when we went in july, march wasn't bad. we're going in sept. and i'll bring it just incase!

We have gone many times and almost every monthof the year and never a mosquito bite. Hope that helps.

Bring the bug juice, be safe not sorry. I have been to WDW at every time of the year and always have at least one bite. I am a lot more aware now of when and where to be prepared.

We've been at the resorts in July and Aug and have never had any problem with mosquitos. I always see them spraying around the resorts to keep the bug problem down. Leave the spray at home.

I am not going to say that there are no mosquitos in WDW, but giving that essentially I have grown up in the middle of a rice field (not really!) and the mosquitos here are HUGE, I can't say that I have ever noticed any. We have been in March, May, August and December different years many times, but maybe just in case?

I went last August and never felt any in the parks, HOWEVER, when we went to the Kennedy Space Center we were eaten alive!

I am bringing the handy bug spray wipes with me. They don't take up much room, and you can have them on you just in case!

We stayed at OKW a few years back. We had a lovely balcony and eldest son decided to sleep outside. (We told him it wasn't a good idea but teenagers know everything.) He came in at about 2 am and slept in the room the rest of the night. In the morning he looked like he had been eaten alive. He was covered in bites on his face, neck, hands and feet (all the exposed areas). Not only that but they were huge and swollen. Lesson learned.

One time I got bitten VERY badly...one trip
But lately I haven't really been bit too much in Disney ( at home is another story)

Old Key West is a killer
We where not staying there but we ended up there and had to catch another bus from there...long weird story but the next say i woke up and it was bad my legs...eaten alive
I guess OKW breeds this stuff

Hi, Just got back yesterday and the mosquitos at Magic Kingdom were terrible! We got chewed up.Bring spray and use it!

If there is a bug within 50 miles it will find my DD. She welts up terribly. I will be bringing the spray, the wipes and the itch cream.

We have the bug wipes on our list to pack! Much easier to use, especially in crowds.

Only 9 days and we're off to Disney!
:moped: :moped: :moped:

We've been in Jan., April, June, Sept., and Dec. and never had a prob with mosquitos at WDW. On one trip in June we visited the Keys (Key Largo) and the second day we were there the skeeters came! (We had rain the first day)

My mom and I have commented on the no skeeters at WDW and we figure that Disney does takes action to keep the skeeter population under control. :goodvibes

33 days and counting! :grouphug:

I picked up some of the DEET wipes at Target before the trip and they worked great. Easy to apply as it only goes where you wipe and not all over like the spray. We always applied near a bathroom so we could wash our hands. They really were a lifesaver at night.

WE only saw one or two mosquitos last year when we were at MK. My son and I were waiting outside splash mountain 10 pm or so, he got one bite. That was the only time we ever saw any. Probably due to the fact it was around a water ride and kind on wooded. Now in Michigan the mosquitos will carry you off, so needless to say I am excited to get away from them for 10 days!! :rotfl:
