Sorry if you've seen this on another board, I'm just getting back into the hang of disboards...lol....and have no idea where to post things, if this is wrong, ignore me...

Here in TX mosquitos are HORRIBLE....does anyone live in FL and know if they get better or worse as the year goes on? We are planning a trip in Sept and my ds will be 11mo old at the time. I'd rather not have to douse him in mosquito spray every night. And I can't remember if they get worse or better by then. We are going Sept. 23-30 hopefully. I think here they are worst in August, but like I said, I can't remember if they get better or worse, I know the season ends usually in November. Any advice will help! Thanks!

there not only bad, sometimes they get to be 3 or 4 feet long :dumbo:

Just like in Texas, Missouri is horrible with mosquitos, I figure it can't be worse than here, where unprotected I get 8 or so a night! I have not had a problem at WDW come to think of it. Moving too fast I suppose!

I can't answer you questions regarding September as we have never been to WDW in September but I can tell you when we went in November a couple years ago...they were HORRIBLE! So...I can only imagine what they would be like in September. Long pants and shirt might help you to be able to cut down on using spray. Good luck and have fun!

I guess it is all perspective--when we are in Missouri we always comment on the fact that there are NO mosquitoes anywhere. If we sat outside here without bug spray in a night we would have 100's of bites. We didn't notice any mosquitoes at Disney either.

We were there last year the end of august-beginning of Sept and they were pretty bad. My daughter has horrible reactions to mosquito bites and ahs to go on anitbiotics when bitten and I know that on the second day there we had to have the Dr come to the hotel room and check her out and give us some stronger antibiotics than what we had with us since she had quite a few bites.

Ok, well we're booked, so I guess it doesn't matter now...lol I will be sure and pack us LIGHT clothing(dark attracts them), bring a thin pair of pants/long sleeve shirt for my kids when we'll be out at night and bug spray!!! That should do it pretty good. Hopefully :-)
